Neville creaming over peps finals record, yes its good but hes never once been underdog doubt hes even been evens.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

That's the funniest thing about Pep. Would he ever succeed at a club like Spurs?

I think not. He is ok when the club can buy him the players he needs and quickly.

I doubt and seriously doubt, he's succeed on a shoestrings, and no, don't bring me details of how well he did somewhere obscure.

Pep, Jose and some other managers only do well in clubs where the owner is throwing money at every problem at the club.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I disagree. We would be a much better team than what we currently are.

The difference i think is that with City's massive spending they are able to attack on many fronts and hence can go for the quadrupole. I think at THFC Pep would have a smaller squad and would have to be more selective with prioritising trophies.

Yes but considering we were a goal down from the opening minute it was a pathetic response.

Don't see it mate.
I had a deep thought about this on Sunday after the game, and putting Jose's time who is the most decorated manager in perspective, and see that these managers are only good when they can buy the players to fil the gaps.
Remember when Kompany got injured and Pep had to do with a makeshift defense for a bit, and City were conceding goals?
I am sure Pep and Jose and the likes are only good in charge of clubs that buy their trophies and Jose made the big mistake of thinking he is so good he could do it without money at Spurs

Arsenal have beaten teams stronger than themselves to win trophies in recent times. Maybe Leicester will do the same. They've already beaten United to get to the FA Cup final. If they do it will show how pathetic we've been in our attempts to win stuff.

yeah this logic doesnt really stand up.

Spurs lost to Portsmouth in a SF when Pompey were relegated and we had Defoe Modric Bale etc in our team.

Under Poch i remember us losing to Palace in the cup and lest we forget we just lost to some part time Croatian goat herders in the ropey league. Last season Norwich knocked us out of the FA Cup & Colchester in the EFL.

Making excuses like this is pathetic.

I would say it is harder to win stuff now. The fact that Man City have won the EFL 4 years on the trot basically shows that even in the lowest competition you still have to beat the very best to win in. No one has managed that since 2017 ! City will win their 3rd title in 4 years and their 8th domestic trophy in 4 years. That's 8 out of 12 available. Unprecedented domination that makes winning anything even more difficult than it ever has been.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
As I have said in my most recent post, winning cups if you are not City, is now, in my opinion, impossible.
It's not even a case of "welcome to the future of English football" unfortunately it is already here.

How can it be impossible, given Arsenal won the FA Cup last season, and ‘not-City’ will win it this?

Arsenal are the FA Cup holders. And beat City in the semi final.
Chelsea play Leicester in this years final, after beating City in the semi final.

What the fack are you talking about you weird caaaant?

Sandy, Spurs are the Millwall, Hull, West Ham, Southampton in this scenario.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Not sure if it is a mentality thing or a DNA thing.

The team seems to freeze on the day and get done by more smarter play by opponents. City were just clever on the day. They fouled to stop us attack and surrounded the ref to make sure the ref knows he will be in for a fight if he ever dished out a card!

Meanwhile, Spurs have a time bomb ticking at the back....Rise Aurier.

With all these problems, Spurs were never going to win that game.

Spurs are really up against themselves.

Its now 4 finals in a row with no goal scored. 3 league cups and a CL final. That is now no trophy in 13 years. That is 8 fa cup semi final defeats in a row.

pretty sure we won the league with 100 points with otamendi as our best CB and Fabian Delph as the left back for an entire season.

Following season we got to 98 points and held of a strong liverpool side without Fernandinho for the last 11 games, Gundagon as a defensive mid and KDB out for the entire season and laporte or zinchenko at left back.

You spout a lot of nonsense

posted on 27/4/21

So what you're saying is the sides who won the the above trophies put out the big hitters before the final or beat the team in the final who put out the big hitters?

With every day that passes it become more obvious that everything Poch said about what needed to be done to Spurs was 100% right. By the time Levy bothered to listen and do something about it, it was too late. Its blindingly obvious Levy and Co have no facking clue what they are doing

Levy’s actions over the past 2-3 years have probably set Spurs back 10 Years
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Poch had five years to win a trophy, and didn't. So he is not totally blameless. He had more than enough chances to win trophies at Spurs.

This is the one thing I don't get. We all agree the Poch Spurs things was a project. It takes 4/5 years to get the team to where they need to be. You said yourself Jose needed that amount of time. Yet, Poch gets us to a Champions League final at the end of those 4/5 years and the "project" is seemingly coming together, and we repay him by sacking him. It was odd. It looks like Levy only gives you one hit at things. In fact, he didn't even give Jose that!

I wouldn't beat yourself up over it, you are not and never have been one of the big hitters for decades so you were not expected to win any of the cup finals you reached.

No, Spurs didn`t go three transfer windows without buying anyone at all. Where do you get that nonsense from. Poch spent plenty of money, just not very wisely.

LOL, like a Wolves fan would know about winning trophies. Spurs have won 14 trophies since Wolves won either the League or the FA Cup.

Not sure Wolves supporters should be wumming Spurs supporters on being a big club. Last time Wolves were relevant were when I was in short trousers.
