Yes, a haematoma is individual specific. It depends how deep and how severe the initial bleed was.

The update we were given on Raphinha today is correct in as much it’s progress isn’t something one can out a timeline on. There’s no point rushing him back. Besides, I imagine most of us feel more comfortable now about facing Brighton without him, so that he is ready to face Tottenham.

I hope, whatever the injury, they ease him back when he's fit - i'm sure they will.

Rest of this season, if needs be, can be managed without him. I'd rather have an injury free, raring to go, winger come the new season.

It really is annoying to be without one of our top players when his injury was caused by a cynical and intentional foul by the Man City player and he only got a yellow card. He really has “done a job” on Raphinha.

different punishment for different teams.
disgusting.
i'm probably in the minority but that's a worse challenge than coops. should be some kind of retroactive suspension when a foul causes such an injury.

...and speaking of Coops tackle.... to rub our noses in it even more.... Balbuena’s red card for the exact same challenge as Coops got rescinded !!

Cooper - Red card, both feet off the ground...dangerous and correct decision.
Fernandinho - Should have been red, not just a cynical foul...may as well have been a Rugby tackle.
Balbuena - No foul whatsoever...rescinded and quite rightly.

I mentioned the comparison to Cooper the other day.

It rubs salt in the wound to see Cooper's victim (Jesus) and Fernandinho lifting cup at weekend.

It was clear how bad the challenge was at the time and also pretty clear this was connected with it.

I believe that authorities should look at retrospectively banning a player for as long as his victim is unable to play, would soon stop these awful tackles.

Shocking tackle.... see this video of it... I think you could almost report this to the police it’s that much of an assault!

I think he should be given as much time as possible, rest him, make sure everything is ok and bring him back in pre season!..

I made the comment in teh thoughts fro today thread, this should have warranted at least as much punishment as Cooper's challenge.

Let's hope there is no long term damage for Raphinha.

both feet weren't off the ground. slightly reckless should have been a yellow.

Don't you think this rule would be used subjectively, for some teams they would come down hard on them others they wouldn't even consider.
And what if a challenge is a career ending one, would you want the perpetrator banned from football for life?
