That’s the best thing about Hazard. He isn’t a top professional

And he plays for enjoyment of life. Fair play.

Imagine what it must be like to be so naturally good at football you can have the career Hazard's had without ever pushing yourself? Imagine how many people that must irritate within football who did all the right things, like Duff, who'd never of got to your level & you didn't even care

Totally echo what Sideshow & Biggish said.

Hazard’s got nowhere near his potential as a player. Doesn’t have the mentality to be an elite player. He’s more of a Ricardo Quaresma than a Cristiano Ronaldo.

The difference between Hazard & Quaresma is ego. Hazard's not a great pro but he's a humble guy who did have a sense of team responsibility. Quaresma was always too preoccupied with himself.

Mourinho managed both, at a club when both respective clubs had the Champions League in their recent pasts or futures. Hazard became the man in his team, Quaresma got binned after six months - says it all.

Fans forget that footballers are human beings with families. If anyone has followed Hazard interviews he has always stressed the importance of family. He has managed to have an elite professional football career whilst avoiding the media frenzy and all that comes with it. If he felt avoiding the media circus was the best thing for him and his family then what right do we have to judge?

This is partly why I thought the RM move was wrong for him...but he felt he ought to go

Exactly....I don't think he pushed for it. It just got pushed on him so many times I think in the end he went " ok whatever"

I suspect the same.

I don't see the sense in vilifying his attitude. You get players who have the drive to be the best and force moves through to achieve that goal. You get players who care for their clubs more than their own career prospects. Players who priorities money, players who priorities fame, etc... but you don't get many players like Hazard who just seem happy playing football their own way with no particular allegiance or goals. What some see as a bad attitude I find refreshing tbh

Great, so the general consensus is that Damien Duff is unequivocally accurate.
Glad that's been cleared up
