Points deduction for what

posted on 4/5/21

how likely is a points deduction

Not very.

would this deter further protests?

No.

You can get forfeights for games not going ahead. But you can't get pints deductions.
Plus the PL and FA would see a riot from all clubs fans if they deducted points for fans standing up to owners.

Points deduction isn’t likely as such, forfeiting the points for a particular game might happen though. Depends on the nature of the protests.

posted on 4/5/21

Imagine the PL deduction points because of fans protesting the idea of a ESL that would destroy the PL.

posted on 4/5/21

dunno why people think a points deduction may not happen.

Middlesbrough were once deducted 3 points for failing to fulfill a fixture against Blackburn... it got them relegated

Not unreasonable to suggest of games can’t go ahead because of protests from fans then the opposition should be awarded to points as a bye.

They’re struggling to reschedule the game from Sunday as it is.

Sorry, yes, i was referring to tgamew being forfeited and the points awarded to others.

I’m not sure if another protest went ahead, it would be considered to be about the ESL rather than just your owners.

Obviously the Glazer's are a huge reason why the protests happened but there's no doubt the ESL proposal fueled it. If that never happened then I don't think we would have seen what happened on Sunday even if the fans are largely disillusioned with them.

I can think of several clubs and their fans who would be delighted if United were docked points, and consequently wobbling for an ECL place.

In terms of a points deduction, the FA and PL contradict each other as to what would constitute the need for a deduction.

The FA say that if a club calls the game off, deduct points, the PL believe it was cancelled on the advice of the Police, so it wasn’t United’s decision.

It doesn't really have anything to do with them though, they're just interested onlookers.

You'd have thought fans of clubs outside the big 6 would be delighted at United supporters trying to rid the game of one of the prime movers in the ESL.

I take deduction points, out of CL, whatever if we can get rid of the Glazers and the fans have their say

Club > Country > Political shenanigans
correct priority order

Bit short term when they relaunch ESL and fack them all over again. Everyone else has gone to sleep and pretended it never happened.

Unless something incredible like legislation to ban foreign ownership / mandate supporters representatives with voting rights or whatever happens. We can dream.

I think if thr fans disrupt / postpone another fixture the authorities hands will be forced to take some kind d of action.

Maybe missing out on top 4 and the Champs League money would be the first thing to make the owners take notice.

I don’t believe the Glazers are going anywhere, anytime soon.
Maybe, just maybe there is a window of opportunity here, where they will start communicating with the fans on a regular basis, and that constructive dialog can be had.
With all things considered, the one thing I believe to be true is all parties want UTD to be successful.
They have made bad decisions whereby they have tried to incorporate the way they do things in the NFL.

Hopefully, and because I believe they will stay, that they change their way of thinking, and listen to the fans input and take it seriously.

Hard to see why they wouldn't engage with fan groups. Its not like that commits them to anything.

posted on 4/5/21

Maybe because they’ve never once engaged with the fans since they took over?

If you’re more worried about a points deduction than the future of your club then the protests probably aren’t for you.

Solidarity to the Utd fans ✊🏿 Let’s drive these parasites out of our game

Absolutely, was thinking more about if there’s more protests rather than the one on Sunday
