Considering his age, I reckon he's still bitter about the 1969 Cup Final.

Man City have spent the most money on players last decade by a long way and have the biggest wage bill in football history. The worlds most expensive squad as well. To be honest it is a shock it took them this long to get to the CL final as SAF got to 4 CL finals spending like a 1/6th of what Man City spent.
That is why Man City are usually favourites ever6 year for the CL as they have the most expensive squad.

When you think of it, it is a miracle SAF got to CL finals as easily as he did with the squad he had. Pep looked great in the 2 finals he won but if SAF had the investment to get very good players in then he would have had a better chance. The fact Hargreaves being injured meant our only hope for 2009 CL final was Darren Fletcher who was wrongly sent off tells me if SAF had proper investment we would have done much better in those 2 finals.

I hope City win it just to hear your head explode.
How many times did Fergie break the transfer record, how many times have United broken it since he retired?
It may come as a shock but Pogba and Maguire wern't free transfers.

Yes more than PSG and lets not forget Man City have also got rid of tons of players that don’t even count towards that figure. Man City have been run completely inefficiently for over a decade to try to win the CL.
I do think there's some merit in saying city have under achieved in Europe, considering their outlay, but doesn't stop me saying well done.
No team walks to a final and it's always nice to see PSG and their antics dumped out a competition.
So? It's a business.
Just ask Joel Glazer.

Utd built themselves on success. Excellent youth and astute transfers.
You guys on the other hand....
Enjoy it Boris... but when ex players like Nedum Onuhua tweet absolute garbage like the above you deserve the grief. Manchester City are a joke and have been since that takeover.
Boris our net spend from 1986/1998 was £4m. I believe in that period Man City and Chelsea as well as Liverpool and Arsenal spent significantly more than Man Utd. Most of our squad in the 90’s was from the youth team. No idea why people think the sky money in the 90’s and transfer records meant we spent a ton of money as even when we broke those transfer records our net spend was like £0 in those years.
The amazing thing was 98/99 we finally spent a decent amount of money and won the treble. That squad would still cost like 1/10th of what Man City current squad costs.

Net spend - Doesn't count as you mentioned before.
The media made a myth about SAF spending money breaking records but if you actually looked at those transfer seasons we just bought 1 player and sold a lot so actually didn’t spend anything.
https://www.transferleague.co.uk/manchester-united/english-football-teams/manchester-united-transfers
Net spend is the most moronic way of assessing or comparing how much money a club spent on transfers.
It is crazy we spent so little under SAF and so much after he left. No wonder why most people wanted Glazers out. The only reason we sold Ronaldo for so cheap at £80m was to pay for the glazers debt. I said back then selling him that cheap was ridiculous as we could keep him for many years and sell him for at least that much. That Ronaldo sale was the beginning of the demise of Man Utd.
