Success is a challenge for us to cope with but we are always emotionally well prepared for catastrophe. If the worst happens I will take a Derby County sabbatical for a few weeks to recharge and be ready for the Div1 campaign in August . It worked out well the last time we were down there COYR

Excellent article, Vidal, from a proper supporter
Will be here on Saturday and again in August, gods willing

Would have been there to wave to you (no hugging) from 2m at PP on Saturday but unfortunately I am now indisposed due to that lurgy with a number less than 20.

I'm resigned to it - it'll be fun, League 1 that is. Do you think ST prices will be reduced?

All bad runs come to an end; why not in this game. I Actually think a draw will be enough as I don't expect Rotherham to beat Cardiff but let's win by a decent margin to be sure.

Would be awful if you won with a last minute goal, leading to a hysterical pitch invasion on the final whistle to celebrate, Fawaz carried shoulder-high around the pitch by his adoring fans, cries of "for he's a jolly good fellow" etc, then two late goals for Blackburn send you down. I really hope that doesn't happen.

Like Baz, I've spoken to decent Forest fans (I know), funnily enough there are of the mind, not exclusively, that relegation is deserved and it may, just may signal the start of the end of Farwaz and is bizarre megalomaniacal reign.

Plus, as an entity/club/ethos I really don't like them and thus will be driving a tractor this weekend

I could go on, but you get the gist.

Classic small club fans, can dish it out but can never, ever take it.
You'd think after Leeds a couple of season's ago you'd learn.

Enjoy your day. x

We saw you cry on the telly!

Chanted ever since Wembley.

Forest are on telly....

I would very much like to return the favour 👍

And a relegation to league 1 would be much worse that a failed play off final.

Can't argue with that, Igor.

Not sure what the evidence is for saying we can dish it out but not take it. I'll take whatever comes, it's part of the territory. The fact that strett has gone to the effort of unearthing comments from years ago that have clearly festered for all this time perhaps indicates that it is he, rather than we, who can't really take it.

Vidal, aside from the season tickets (I can't get to enough games normally to justify one) your thoughts echo mine exactly. In my case, my supporting Derby is my dad's fault (and both my granddads!) But I still feel I've imposed a lifetime of misery on my boys at times.
I almost hate to say this, but of the 3 teams that can stay up, Rotherham deserve it most. Wednesday and ourselves are a disgrace to how a club should be run and have massively underachieved on the pitch.

Of course I want us to stay up ... I think we probably will, but what an absolute Farcet a season this has been and continues to be.

Sorry Strett, not quite sure what you're driving at.

There is some serious embarrassing obsession there. Did you really dig out comments on a light hearted message board from 4 years ago? Well, I suppose you did. But you've not even done it a tongue in cheek, cheery, ya boo! sort of way.

Strange, very strange.

Which pub should a Forest fan in Derbyshire go and watch it?

I generally don't like witnessing grown men crying, but I may make an exception this weekend.

I know it's the Mail but...

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9546827/Erik-Alonsos-Derby-takeover-JEOPARDY-looks-refinance-Pride-Park-fund-deal.html

A snippet...

The takeover of Derby County is in serious doubt after claims that prospective owner Erik Alonso has attempted to refinance Pride Park in a bid to fund the deal.

Sportsmail has been told that alarm bells are ringing inside the club and there is a realisation that the buyout is unlikely to go through.

Alonso has provided proof of funds — it is not known if this money belonged to him or an associate — but sources say he does not intend to use that to complete the purchase of the Championship club.

Peeder, I agree with you. Rotherham are punching close to their weight on and off the field, and Wycombe have given it a right good go aswell. I still say that had Davies or Bielik been fit we would have been safely in mid-table by now, but that isn't a good enough excuse.

I still think the pro's outweigh the cons with supporting a club you have roots with
I have a friend who is a Chelsea fan with no ties, if they win a trophy its just another day

My son is 5 and I'm gently nudging him towards Derby even though he's not really in to football yet. If he chooses to be a plastic I'll take to him a game here and there but I'll have the chat with him that it wont be the same

If you stick with a team you have a connection with a promotion stays with you for life, a long unbeaten run, a major signing, gives you a far bigger buzz than randomly picking a big team and watching on TV them win the league

Doesn't look or sound like anybody we should be going near. Never trust an agent. On gut instinct at least this fees dodgier than the deal that fell through and would make the three amigos era almost heavenly.

Absolutely agree Vidal. Either would have made a huge difference. Curtis for his calmness, Bielik for his class.
Wycombe do deserve a lot of credit for keeping in touch.
What's disappointed me most has been our results against the lower teams. We have been abject in a lot of those 6 pointers.
Under Clough, I recall, I looked at results and we were ruthless against the bottom 6 then progressively got less from each quartile as you moved up the table.
This season ... we have picked up 13 points in 11 games against the 6 around us. Simply not good enough.

posted on 6/5/21

Bird, Sibley and Knight would have flourished alongside Bielik instead of looking like little boys lost in big men's shirts. Shinnie has had a good season for me but he hasn't got Bielik's presence or class. Davies would undoubtedly have organised the defence better. Swansea's first goal last weekend for example would never have been conceded and there have been countless other similar soft goals, most headers. In a lesser way the loss of Gregory has also been important. Had he been fit then in the last few games I think we could have played long-ball football just to scramble a few points. Wghorn hasn't offered anything at all. Gregory at least is a seasoned centre-forward capable of getting the ball to stick at the top end. We haven't had a team capable of doing the basics in any area of the pitch.

Waghorn seems to be one of those who has stolen a career. Ask fans of any former clubs, they'll always say the same, not one to rely on.

Some players manage to do that. Rewinding the clock I've always thought Miller looked hopeless wherever he's been so wasn't surprised when he was hopeless here too, but even after that, he was wanted.

Waghorn scored a goal against us, that secured a vital point for you which will hopefully keep you up.
Should have been three points though, but for that 'offside' goal that kept the BC trophy in Nottingham, again.
