Well, that went badly 😢

Anyway, I was saying... Clarke most consistent and rarely to blame for goals on an individual basis although, of course, he is part of a defence which is built on its ability to forget to defend

After the relief of yesterday, back to reality. Surviving by the skin of your teeth one season is often followed by relegation in the next.

The experiment with trying to build a team around the academy players seems doomed to failure. In all the years (nearly 60) I have been watching Derby I don't think we have produced 11 quality players. If anyone can make a team of 11 home produced players over thet period be my guest. Start with Ron Webster and ending with Will Hughes there aren't many in between. Of the recent crop some like Knight and Sibley have flattered to deceive where as the likes of Bird haven't even flattered.

Derby have always done their best business by raiding the lower leagues (and even none league) for hidden gems. A decent scouting team would probably be a better investment than the academy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Don't agree with all of that Spart.

Our problem is not that we can't produce good young players, it's that we expect too much of them too soon OR we sell them!

Knight is a good player but had way too much pressure on his shoulders. Same with Sibley. Bird will be decent ... but ...

It's all about the progession from "youth" to "adult" football.

You have to blend teenagers into a team not expect them to form the nucleus of a side straight away.

Ideally, into a successful side.

So, you're right about the experiment failing but wrong about not producing good young players.

Add Hendrick, Lowe, Bogle, Whittaker to your list. I'm sure there's more but I've got a cup final to win this morning.

---------------------------------

Ok Peeder, taking all the players we have produced over the last 60 years pick a team that would be capable of staying in the Premier League, (or even the Championship).

Morning. Slept in after waking at 4am with wierd thoughts that we'd lost and gone down. Couldnt get back to sleep for ages
Anyway Shinnie 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 PotS for me and he did actually start the move which led to our first yesterday, Wellies.
Whilst I'm here, were you a regular in the Greyhound, Terry ? Just round the corner from my ancestral home.
Surprised Igor wasnt lurking for the 1000, he's usually the man

Player of the season, Ibe.

I'd get rid of Ibe tomorrow if I was in charge, he'll be having a bad back next.

Next I'd get rid of Marriott.

Then I would try to buy Scott Dann from Palace, an experienced pro who isn't getting games ATM.

Re the Greyhound... no, not particularly. I could hit the place with a stone though from our place. They have the outside courtyard. That's where I guessed the fans were. Anybody know how many were outside the ground yesterday ... sounded a fair few on the tv '???

Just like I guaranteed we wouldn't get a points deduction. Again no one believed me.

The source was the Sun on Sunday - phoenix of the Milly Dowling phone hacking News of the World.

However, the EFL 'ain't going to leave this. They got seriously egged when Derby were found not guilty last time. They're embarrassed and that's why they are appealing.

On a personal note, I don't think the EFL are fit for purpose.

posted on 9/5/21

Nothing has changed since the last time so unless they have new allegations it has to be the same result. Remember when Ken Bates made them look stupid by going in to administration after relegation. They found some new offences in order to save face. Funny that they didn't enforce their judgment with QPR but let them off with a slapped wrist.

Can't we appeal the appeal of the appeal of the appeal?

It is strange the hate in for us n love for Fester, Bommo n QPR. I feel like we could file a harassment law suit over the EFL's managing of this.

Sunny days where have you gone...

2W ... I would imagine the answer is yes, we could. Or take it to the courts, which I'm sure Mel would do.

It's a total farce. The EFL appoint an "independent commission" that review and find in our favour.

So they go somewhere else and try again.

There's an article on a website saying we deserve the same punishment as Wednesday but it ignores the fact that our sale of PP showed in the books in the year it happened AND money moved whereas Wednesday reported it in accounts for 1 year but didn't actually make the transfer until the following year, which is bordering on malpractice in accounting.

The quicker Premier league 2 starts, and we can join, the better. The EFL is a joke.

posted on 9/5/21

Also I think they approved the deal with no fuss.

I don't think Mel acted in the spirit of the game but which of these rich overlords are?

The EFL could just say:

Dear Bish Ash Chairmen

Please stop sending us emails hating on Derby.

Mel didn't break any rules, but as a result of his actions we'll pull our fingers out of our ar5e n look at making sure stadium sales are better regulated.

In the meantime can we please urge all chairmen to play within the rules of Financial Fair Play as their clubs are run in to the ground by the monopoly of a few clubs in the Premier League.

As for Derby you all saw their last 8 games of this season, street justice ⚖. No points deduction could be more punishing than watching that. Please give it a rest, it'll be 3035 n we'll still be counter appealing counter appeals.

Grow a pair, move on and answers on a postcard about how we can make this game fair.

Sincerely

EFL
