Catch22 is just the most amazing novel ever written, everything else just pales into insignificance. During lockdown I bought a new record deck, playing vinyl gives another dimension when it comes to enjoying music. Pink Floyd for me, any album at all, they are all quality. But if my life depended on it, Atom Heart Mother.

Been trying to find a download copy of McCarthurs bar but it’ll have to be a paperback purchase I think.
Read it years ago on holiday and just remember bursting out laughing every now and again

I Am Pilgrim is a very good read!
Thrillery
I was talking to my dad about this only on Sunday there.

There’s a second book too.
As for “original works rather than copies/clones of other stuff,” I can recommend the written histories of almost all of Scotland’s top-flight football clubs.

Second McCarthys bar. Reminded me of my childhood summers holidaying in ireland on the family farm. Full family in the pub till 3am in a lockin when the guards would come in the back, have a quick pint then pick who was fit to drive and give the full pub a slow escort home like a wagon train to ensure no mishaps. Wouldn't get that nowadays.

I remembered the Luke part of the name and googled for the Rheinhart. Then discovered it was a pen name. Who knew? Thank you Mr Google.
No reaction to Wild Marmalade? Aussie band consisting of Si on the digeredoo and Matt on drums. Excellent live.
