It'll be interesting to see what influence he has on Ross McCrorie at Aberdeen.

He achieved a lot at Celtic, mostly while Rangers were on their knees or out of the league entirely. I remember Kevin Thomson consoling him after bossing him in OF games in the earlier years. A truly limited footballer only good for noising up opponents, who had the good fortune of his career coinciding with a period of dominance and little competition for Celtic. I wish I was as lucky as him. Fondly remembered for "doing the Broony" in front of Diouf by fans who like to forget it was Diouf lifting the league trophy that season.

I hope Celtic's next club legend is as piiish as him.

You have to beat the Killies and Hamiltons too if you want trophies.

No one is saying he is Xavi, but now that he is leaving its harsh to put the boot in and deride him to that degree.

Celtic fans can be utter diicks

Wow.
Calling me an utter diick for not agreeing with you about Scott Brown.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I concur

There’s plenty of other reasons

Sorry to disagree but i'm 100% glad to see the back of him.

An utter bell of an individual. Imagine going for a beer with that?

A truly limited footballer. A midfielder who basically can't shoot, header or tackle and cant pass the ball forwards more than 5 yards with any certainty of success.

Had about 2/3 good years out of 14.

As for the captain stuff, I don't buy it.

He has had far too much influence about the place and has brought a neddish and classless culture to the club.

He's the ultimate flat track bully and can't step up.

I remember seeing him against Arsenal. Put in one of his hard man tackles on Eboue. Big man just got up, laughed at him and patted him on the head.

In his 14 years, I can't remember a single big game where Celtic stepped up and won a match that they had no right to win.

Sorry..I forgot about beating Barcelona at Parkhead.

He was a giant in midfield that night.

Hang on...that was Wanyana. Brown wasn't there.

As for Lex's comment about how Celtic might have made Brown a millionaire, we've spent the best part of £20m on him.

He has done very well out of Celtic.

You just need to read what Browns ex managers and ex/current team mates think of him

He'll be a massive loss to the club especially for the way he conducts himself on behalf of the club off the park

But it's time for him to go, he has been becoming a liability in the middle of the park since Rodgers 2nd season and has over stayed his welcome in the current set up

Piiish you say? A bit like your facts.

Only 6 of his 22 honours were won whilst Rangers were 'on their knees' (with still the 2nd highest wage bill in Scottish football) so not "mostly"

Both POTY awards when there was a Rangers in opposition.

Thomson consoling a friend - it's what they do - and he's been bossed in many more games than that one and by poorer players - that's football and form. You want to talk abut the number of games he's bossed a Rangers?

You bring up Diouf like some hero? A guy that even today is reviled across the football community. Heard Souness talk about him about a month ago in the context of pariahs in the game. That's Diouf.

Captain for a string of club and country managers. Revered by everyone that's worked with him so he must have something? At the end of the day I see where Mags is coming from but will defer to those work colleagues that he brings something they value even if we as fans struggle to always see it on the pitch.

Yawn. Zzzzz. Boring.

Of course the rates are up. It happens when people get closer. They spread infection.

Today’s deaths with Covid - 11
Today’s deaths with cancer - 450

Stay indoors if anyone is that decking worried and no; no vaccine is 100%. These vaccines are about the most effective against a disease or virus than there has ever been.

With as many people vaccinated, it’s the hospital admissions that’s more important. More people are doing the lateral flow testing, so it’s bound to pick up more cases as lockdown eases.

There’s no real cause for concern right now if cases stay where they are.

new variants are only a problem if there's a rise in hospitalisations and if its spreading amongst vaccinated people

early signs are that it isn't on both accounts

There's a lot of people dancing around the 'South Glasgow' problem for fear of being called racist. I don't give two fooks who or why but, like Moray, get teams in there, get testing, get folk isolating. If it is some people's 'culture' to live in big groups there's next to fook all we can do about that except educate and encourage. Frankly, I'd have the vaccinators and 'community leaders' go door to door with the testers and apply pressure.

Thats it Silver, get vaccinating everyone in the areas of the rise in cases

Bolton numbers are going mad, the mayor (I think) said to the government about pulling in a vaccination task force and was told No apparently

surely that's the best way to deal with these outbreaks

we've got a vaccine now which we know works better than expected

No matter what we do there will be those for their own reasons don’t want to take a vaccination. Fine. I hope they remain ok but if they become ill or worse then so be it.

Sadly there will be some for whom the vaccine doesn’t work. Again there’s nothing we can do about that.

All vulnerable groups are now either fully vaccinated or were offered. We’re now moving down the age groups where two thirds of the entire population have had one vaccine shot as a minimum. That’s improving all the time.

Variants will happen and yet not one has proven to evade the vaccines. It just can’t get any better other than vaccinating more people.

As for local outbreaks, maybe I’m being cynical but I believe that’s down to large family groups or work environments who aren’t following protocol. By all means surge test them but baws to prioritising them for a vaccination because they can’t use some common sense.

Start clearing up the ridiculous rules and guidance notes that everyone knows makes no sense. And release as the data improves.
