it will harm us if liverpool knock us out of the champions league next season

or beat us in signing Sancho

fecking ludicrious more people aren't furious about that on the beach performance
----
I think its a coping mechanism, if they say it enough then it didnt really happen kind of thing, i cant fathom how any fan wouldn't be upset at that against liverpool
----------------------------------------------------------------------

never thought i'd see the day when it's OK to concede 4 at home to the sccumm, and could have conceded 7.

that's never ok
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Fergie lost to them and City. Massive defeats as well.

We should have sacked him then
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Fergie also won titles
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It doesn't matter. He lost the games and should have been sacked.

Fuxsakes I did respond, I told you the manager has no control over players making stupid mistakes but you seem to think he coaches them to make those mistakes

That’s your problem

you honestly don't think that poor tactics and coaching doesn't result in players making mistakes?

I'll give you an example, we try to constantly play out from the back when we are trash at it.

This results in nervousness and risky play that puts players under pressure and they make mistakes as a result. That comes from the managers insistence we do it even though we suck at it.

Now is it really that far fetched to blame the manager in the above scenario for putting players in a game plan that they are good enough to execute?

Playing out from the back is part of the modern game, most teams do it nowadays, but most teams don’t press you as effectively as Liverpool, one mistake you might get away with but successive mistakes in the same move will find you out and that’s what happened tonight

We lost to the better team, it happens occasionally, but taking in the season overall the managers tactics have served us well, you just find it hard to cope with defeat, no biggie

sigh

anyways the managers tactics also gave us Crystal Palace, 6-1 Spurs loss, Istanbul loss, Leipzip loss, Sheffield United & West Brom losses alongside today. Probably other embarrassing results i've forgotten too.

so it doesn't happen "occasionally"

Would we have second place if Liverpool's CB's didn't die?

Or if Chelsea had sacked Lampard sooner? Or Leicester didn't do their usual bottle job?

Europa league final is based on a Champions league failure

I am not Ole out but he deserves some pretty scathing criticism as well as the praise.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Leicester bottle job? What are you on about? They beat you and are 3rd. I'd say for Leicester that's pretty much the opposite of a bottle job

Ignore him. He's a cretin.

He just wants it to be 1999 again. 2nd place for the Utd squad is actually decent. Hate the fact our fans are acting like we should be top. City have 5 regular subs who walk into our first 11.

And totally agree. Leicester have done well yet again on a much smaller budget than the rest.

With all due respect, I'd gladly swap our manager for yours. Liverpool having a slight resurgence. It happens. To have the away wins record and 2nd place to the unworldly City takes some doing. If I were a fan I'd be worried about Fernández being snapped up in the next two seasons. Plus a potential European trophy. Not to be sniffed at.

City have a second 11 that is only marginally weaker than their first. They can make 5 or 6 changes per game with no impact whatsoever. Even 7 or 8 changes and they'll win most of their games. Given that their first 11 is also probably the strongest in the league, it was always going to be difficult to finish anywhere near them.

This is why when it comes to transfers, I think we'd be better looking at a couple of really top players this summer, rather than spreading the net and winding up with an assortment of averageness.

Liverpool were not that good. Henderson had a shocker and could easily have dealt with the first 3 goals better and the 4th he did nothing.

I am shocked Cavani missed a big chance, Greenwood shot was cleared off the line from close range and then Rashford at the end one on one just pokes it wide. That is 3 sitters missed in one game. We conceded shocking goals.

Also there have been many times 2nd has had similar or lower points. The fact we are so comfortable in 2nd after such a bad start were people thought we were in a relegation battle is insane. If the schedule was more kind to us I think we would have picked 3 points against Leicester City and got a point against Liverpool.

posted on 14/5/21

Also if Leicester City don't get top 4 then they will have bottled it big time.
