Just to play devil's advocate, is there a case to be made that UK immigration officers are potentially saving them from slavery
Slavery from where?
Didn't even cross my mind
To go in to the most ethnically diverse neighbourhood in the city during Eid and remove people from a flat on a 'suspected' immigration offence is a disgrace and was met with the reaction it deserved

Well when people are illegally brought into a country it's often under false pretences and they are forced to operate in illegal and degrading activities.
As I say. Devil's advocate. Don't agree with the religous timing which I'm sure they were aware of, nor the use of dawn raids either.

On this occasion I agree with the OP.

If they are here illegally then they should be deported. Couldn’t care less about the date or sensitivity.
Is it now ok for mob rule to defy the law?
I’d also wager that Mr and Miss I N Dignant who kicked this off or joined in will often be the same people who turn up with pitchforks and blazing torches at the doors of some poor innocent wrongly labelled as some pervert on the basis of nothing more than disgusting gossip, revenge or malicious intent.

I think there's something here about treating people with dignity and respect and as human beings. Not something our Home Secretary seems capable of doing.

Well yes.
The whole thing was a mess yesterday.
Timing that operation on Eid - surely TF those involved must've known the significance.
Using mob rule to delay legal process is dangerous precedent - especially in such an emotive subject.
The encouragement for some politicians to gather in an area with a known increase in Covid cases was deliberately reckless.
People supporting their neighbours will always be a positive - lets hope it doesn't come with unintended consequences

Erm. It wasn’t the Home Secretary who turned up. We’re now to determine when we enforce the law based on religious festivals are we?
