They’ve effectively got us politically snookered. Lobby gov MP’s to gain influence. Silence the opposition party by using the term anti Semitic any time criticism is levelled.

Democracy eh.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, we saw that in full effect from our media against Corbyn and again now with the coverage of the massacre happening in Palestine.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As I posted yesterday, Jenrick has come out and accused anyone Anti-Israel of being Anti-Semitic.

Tone deaf, they have killed hundreds, bombed homes then bombed the places they took refuge. Annexed vital water supplies, destroyed infrastructure, bombed the media infrastructure in Palestine, and when global opinion was against them, decided to double down.

The vilification of Corbyn as a racist for his stance on the Israel/Palestine situation is yet another dark stain on our media.

I think I mentioned in one of my first comments on here about being wary of the equivocation of anti semitism and criticism of the Israeli state. It’s sadly inevitable.

Had a quick read through of last night. Without stirring it up I saw it went a bit loopy on here for a while

Inevitable sadly, there's few right wingers on the site who can have an honest conversation about Israel. Most obfuscate and distract.

Yep, sadly. Don’t get why some see criticism of Israel as such a threat they have to go to such lengths to defend the indefensible

Such is life

The thing is, i don't claim to know the details or have any agenda for/against either but what i do know is that 200 Palestine's inc 55 children compared to 10 Israelis is a slaughter, not a conflict or war, and the International community have the audacity to say that Israel is 'defending itself'

I don't know if you saw the chat myself and Sat Nav had last night, but the IDF have killed nearl 9k Palestinians since the year 2000, whilst the Palestinians have killed less than 90 IDF members (if I recall correctly) it's certainly not a war.

More dead Palestinians from three days of bombings than dead Israelis from ten years of rockets. Israel in its current guise, under Netanyahu is a bully, nothing more, nothing less.

Yeah had a glance at the link you posted as well. But Palestinians & Hamas are seen as the aggressors for some reason.

Think it was 2018 when Jenrick iirc called Natalie Portman anti semetic for not wanting to go to Israel and pick up their version of the Nobel peace prize and $2m.

Portman for those who don't know was born in Israel and has always declared her love for it. She based her decision on the fact that Netanyahu was also going to be there in a guest speaker capacity. She is against the right wing parties so declined and explained her situation including declaring her love for Israel.

It's totally ridiculous if Portman is seen as anti semetic in any capacity

Of course it’s not a war, it’s ethnic cleansing.

I wasnt aware of that at all, Thanks for sharing

Interesting insight in to the fact that this is normal for him, Along with circumventing planning laws for his donor friends to avoid community finance initiatives that funds schools, doctors surgeries and shops around planning developments..

My initial reaction to this was I’m not shocked or surprised. Ridiculously it’s expected. Sadly I find my apathy more disturbing.

It’s much like the scandal surrounding PPE etc. People shrug as it’s typical Conservative MO.

IIRC it was roughy 10:1 Palestinians vs Israelis. It’s not right to compare all Palestinian deaths vs IDF deaths.

Pakistan has greater military power than Isreal, if they continue locking at doors of UN than self respect is dead.

you are correct, But i was solely comparing IDF kills of Palestinians vs Palestinian killings of the IDF, As the conversation was the media calling it a "War" and those would be the two sides..

The 800 israelis civilians killed by Palestinians would be largerly victims of Terrorism/land conflicts imo.

Yeah and that comparison is unfair and exaggerating what is already a huge gulf. It’s unnecessary.

10:1 is already huge enough. Everyone knows this is an unfair fight militarily and therefore many more Palestinians are going to die than Israelis. You don’t need hyperbole. It weakens your point imo.

Also I think that it’s also just adding fuel to what is already a blazing, centuries old fire. We all (not that JA606 is going to solve the conflict but you never know!) need to be talking another the solutions, not about body counts.

There is no solution short of the UN stepping in and forcing Israel back within the original settlement borders, setting up a free and fair two state government and overseeing free and fair elections

But they wont do it, for reasons outlined on this thread, most governments are paralysed by Pro Israel lobby groups and funding. 80% of the conservatives in 2009 were "Friends of Israel" Priti Patel got off scott free breaking the Ministerial code and funnelling foreign aid to the IDF, The article i linked about Jenrick...

Thats just the UK, The US is even worse, The EU is paralysed on the subject due to the historical weight of culpability that Germany bears.

Nothing can and nothing will be done about it.

Also its not an unfair comparison in the context of war to consider the bodycount of an army and its victims

Had a quick read of the election thread with a view to rejoining it, considering the chatter on this thread has been largely nice and productive.. What a facking cesspit, and i see the meadow is still being used as a safeplace for biiitchfests

An utterly Laughable and shameful thread being used exactly as predicted, Nothing short of a disgusting echo chamber to harass other posters from the safety of NPEs filter list. Embarassingly high school

Thats beneath you tbh Sat Nav, earlier when i referred to there being "Few right wingers you can have an honest debate with" you were top of that list

I don’t love doing that but sometimes it’s better to not say things directly as it just won’t be productive at all. I’ve tried having an honest debate this morning, as did NPE and we just got useless comments in return.

Apparently we cannot give an opinion if we haven’t been to a place enough times.

Some of the things said on here have been far worse. Especially by the despicable author of the thread.

I look to the US tbh. The UN cannot really do anything without the US getting involved also. Biden needs to put the pressure on financially. It’s sad but that’s the only thing that will work to get the ball rolling.

I started posting two days after it was put up, and think its been largely fine in the time ive been posting.

NPE never has honest debates, Hes always attempting Gotchas or denigrating others intelligence, You also cant EVER have a good faith debate when you have another chamber that constantly gets used as "Can you believe "X" said "Y"? LOL"

Anyway, enough about other threads, i just think its utterly sad and is a futher layer to the destruction of what used to be a great thread

Yeah you took my comment completely the wrong way. Not what I said at all. I questioned the validity of your claim based on experience in that place, integral to your view ‘hang around California for a few months.....’

Well done for being a little snide about it though. Not like you haven’t gone personal on the election thread as well so knock the holier than thou shiite off

Hes had two calls with Netanyahu apparently, asking for a cease fire.

Hes hamstrung by their large Jewish, extremely conservative population which has a massive distrust of muslims.

Theres no appetite there.
