That's another debate then. But from the still picture that was used, he wasn't fully level to me. I've seen other offsides given this season with players more level than that.

It was clarified that because it hit his knee and deflected on to his harm it was accidental and because it didn’t directly lead to a goal scoring opportunity the goal stood. That’s the rules.
As for the offside, well it was offside. Again that’s the rules.

It was clarified that because it hit his knee and deflected on to his harm it was accidental and because it didn’t directly lead to a goal scoring opportunity the goal stood. That’s the rules.
As for the offside, well it was offside. Again that’s the rules.

I remember a penalty being given in the Premiership because the ball hit the players foot and bounced up and hit his hand.
