I seriously believe that the human species has devolved over the past 10 years.

Coincidently around the same time Smart Phones became mainstream.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Think it’s a case of too much information. There’s stuff out there to reinforce your viewpoint no matter how absurd or illogical it is. Plus an increased audience to air it to.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Plus it led to the birth of wumming
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Really? I've misunderstood wumming then. Because I've been winding up dafties for decades.

Devolution to blame?

I digress, or regress, but you may have a point, Sir.

As in like people have gotten thicker?

I agree but I would put the coincidence down to social media and it being available on smart phones.

I definitely think that social media, and the rise of reality TV have dumbed people down.

Actually, add celebrity/influencer culture to that too

Either that or social media has exposed a layer of stupidity that could not be observed in the past.

Let’s not pretend the anti mask babies would have lasted a minute in The Blitz.

Agreed!!

I remember for a good while it was cool to be stupid, but thankfully we are very slowly moving away from that!

Completely agree!

However throughout history people have always thought they’ve known better!!

In the plaque people were saying that it was fake and people didn’t want to wear masks in the Spanish flu pandemic either!

Everyone just has to know better don’t they?? 🤷🏽‍♂️

The funnest thing is that most conspiracy theorists say everyone else are sheep, but they will never back down on anything?!

The sad part is, they keep bleating on about things “going bank to normal” but are not prepared to do a single thing to enable that!

I think one thing this Pandemic has highlighted is how incompetent most governments actually are, especially ours!

They closed at least 50% down hospitals even though populations have risen, they've repeatedly cut NHS spending and have rarely invested in the future.

Then brexit happened and that hasn't helped anything and notably has made our nation more weaker at a time where humanity needed to be more unified.

People voted for all of that, though.

They voted repeatedly for the Tories, and they voted for Brexit.

Yep and that goes to the previous point about devolution

So many people just blindly vote, just because their dad or another family member did in a different era etc...

Not only did I break the cycle, but both my parents voted labour at the last election when they realised all four of their kids were.

great stuff!

I'm unsure of whether I should vote for Lib Dems or Labour?

I feel Lib Dems deserve a chance, rather than just be bridesmaids.

Also Lib Dems got voting in my area, however if it means voting Labour and getting rid of Tories then I would be all for that too..

I'm torn between the greens and labour to be honest.

I don't really like Starmer, I don't trust him, he's broken too many of his promises already. He has two good policies, the nationalised energy company to enter the free market, rather than buying existing providers out (I hope he cuts infrastructure funding to the existing ones) and switching the NHS to a proactive footing, a focus on prevention rather than cure.

I think we will end up in a similar situation that we did with Blair, the "they are all the same" mentality, we see in America that being incrementally better isn't good enough, but it IS an improvement.

Luckily the Tories are self destructing
