How about the way he, Fernandes and Cavani linked up in the 6-2 against Roma? Was it an indictment of Solskjaer that Pogba played on the left in that game?
Pogba on the left doesn't play as a winger, and we lose the width and pace if he plays there, but there have been a few games where putting him there has enabled him to influence the attacking play by giving him freedom he'd lack in the double pivot. It seems to me a justified technique when he's in form and Rashford isn't and Martial is injured. Didn't work out today but this looked like a match in which everyone wanted to win while expending as little effort as possible and avoiding injuries.

I love this response, lindelof has been a constant starter as has fred and been diabolical consistently yet dvb gets the odd game every 5,6 games doesn't play well yet doesnt get the same privalage as the other 2 clowns, if dvb had played 15games.on the trot and been poorin 90% of them then yeah theres a legitimate excuse to blast him

Totally agree about lindelof... and that's why we will be likely looking to sign a new CB.
The problem is you need to try and forge a partnership at CB and unfortunately bailly and tuanzebe are both far too unreliable in terms of fitness.
That then leads to why fred plays so much... because our CBS aren't good enough and need too much protection.
And that is exactly why pogba is set out to the left.
He is the given the freedom to come inside and add some creativity that doesn't come from anyone else centrally other than bruno... that then leaves shaw to provide the width.
It really isn't rocket science
