Twice he said it, unfortunately I wasn't able to see the ref's answer, did anybody else?

ref watch on skysports will be interesting

Actually thought that VAR would have done something right and given that nailed on penalty. How wrong I was.

Was beautiful Karma that Bamford scored the 1st goal.

I thought cavani was perfectly onside... Irrespective of where the Fernandes touched the ball which he didn't...

And as for the Werner penalty that wasn't given Mike Dean should hang his head in shame... I was frankly amazed that var managed to get the penalty we did get right

We had a similar one with Poveda against Chelsea earlier in the season, where there is clear contact but he stays on his feet to try and get a shot away, but is clearly hindered by the contact.

It encourages diving and players going down softly.

de gea got the assist so it seems to be offside for me.
great shot though.

I'm sure when they showed it he was on side... Or was he originally offside prior to Fernandes missing it and then went on side

Must admit I only saw it once

He was 3/4 yards offside when de gea kicked it, he’d got back onside by the time the ball was passing penandes.

Ok that's obviously what I saw then... The only other thing they showed was Fernandes clearly not touching the ball... Without that context

No offence

There is no offside offence if a player receives the ball directly from:

a goal kick

a throw-in

a corner kick

if thats true then the decisions correct, though im sure ive seen countless free kicks given for offsides from goalkicks when players go up for a head after coming from an offside position.

It wasn't a goal kick, it was open play.

To the OP its clear, even with VAR assistance the people providing the assistance are the same incompetent refs on the field. All buddies trying to protect each other, scared of saying their mates got something wrong.

That Dean guys just a priick, never seen a ref who is so inconsistent with his own decisions, just wants to be centre of attention makes it up as he goes along, does what he wants. Ruins games because hes a major influence of the results. Disgusting. Then theres the likes of Moss who just isnt literally fit enough to be a ref.

The head of our refs? Riley is it? pathetic job hes done, get him out pay what it takes to get collina in and give him full reigns to sort the mess out. But ofc that won't happen. Theyll want to keep it English or w.e. In that case get Clattenburg back, he might have been a too but he was the best we had in a long time.

If you have to dive, then its not a foul. Might aswell play with size 8 orange balls and replace the goals with hoops. It's a contact sport, apart from shirt pulls which blatantly restricts a players movement, a player doesn't have to fall over to get a decision imo. Ayling does it and people applaud him for it and refs ALWAYS buy it, they must know he just falls over, yet they take no action.

yup ayling plays a risky game, he runs to the ball with player close behind him then puts on the breaks as soon as there is contact he goes over, drives me insane, hate it.

You have contradicted yourself.

You say if you have to dive then it’s not a foul. But then say a player doesn’t have to fall over to get a decision?
