Hey Balbykiwi
WQhen I was over this week I found out that McKay is the agent for Saunders and several players he is hoping the Rovers will take. He is also a friend of the man (name not known) who was going to put money into Wrexham FC. However, he found out things he didn't like at Wrexham and has therefore put the money into the Rovers. I understand this is the money funding certain players plus Dean Saunders.
I got the information from my source at the club so I expect it to be 90% true. You can never be 100% about anything.
Thanks for that newyankee - you can tell we're in different time zones to most on this board! I guess it may quell some rumours if this mystery benefactor revealed himself. Certainly interesting times.
Balby
I don't like what happened to Sean, being told by text, and I certainly don't like the sound of this dodgy agent.
Money is destroying football and I don't want it destroying my club even if it means us going down.
There's only one person lost power in this struggle and it's JR.
DON'T PUT OUR CLUB AT RISK JR
Alex
For your information, SoD was at JR's house on Thursday night saying he could not take the pressure any more.
Just get over it, the club needs to get behind Saunders and stay in the Championship, something we could not do with SoD around.
SoD had too much power, even down to the fact that had he still been there I would not have been able to have PDX Mickey's programme signed a silly little thing but proof he was too controlling.
I think Saunders will concentrate on the football side and leave all other decisions to others.
As someone has alraedy said, The King is dead, long live the King. I think if you had seen the faces on Saturday after the win you would change your mind a little.
We all thank SoD for what he did picking up from Penney, but his time has now come and gone.
NY,
You know as well as I do that Bramhall and Watson had decided he was not their man and as a result Bramhall was refusing to put more money in the club. Isn't it strange a new manager and suddenly there is
money available.
It's no wander Seans confidence had gone. It's like they starved him in to submission.
Could it be that Sean was at JRs so JR could apologise
For the manner in which they sacked him. By the way it was me who said the King is dead etc.
I suppose it will be all roses now new manager, new director, new players and Bramhall Watson putting
their money in. Let's wait and see before making judgement
back in
Alex. I know it is just a tidgy little point and i dont want to interrupt your argument but it was me who first posted The King is dead etc comment the day after it all happened.
Thats all.
Hound,
I have just noticed that Fuzzy has also made the same quote. I admit I am having problems with this blasted IPAD and my comments may or may not have been sent!
what peeves me off with people and it was the same when cardboard was here and now im reading it again "ID RATHER US GO DOWN!" what planet are you on? we go down, we lose key players, we cant attract players to our club both transfer or loan, we lose more money from the media, attendances drop and the board have to pump in more cash to keep us going, yeah id rather us go down aswell............... NOT! ridiculous thing to say! today was a fantastic game yet again with saunders in charge a game we came from behind and won, something we wouldnt have done if odriscoll was in charge, theres only one place we are heading and thats upwards as opposed to downwards under the last regime, and yes your quite right however about money being made available now as opposed to before, thats because odriscoll werent liked due to some things he did and thats the bottom line of it, 7 points from 3 games wow feels great enjoying a saturday night once more!
RTID
I will make my position very clear. Sean has gone and we will never know Seans view on things because thats the kind of man he is.
I will not turn in to the supporter who continually whingers on like The Heff never got a decent chance
people.
The main thing now is the future.
Beware of people promising great success and loads
of money to get there, just remember our history, the bells are ringing out a warning.
DS has started well but you can only judge him fairly if
he had the same financial constraints as Sean after a
significant period.
I am genuinely concerned about this less than angellic
agent in the back ground and JR losing control on the
Board.
Time will tell if the decision was right and I wish DS well so let's see the situation in 5 years time just one promotion will do for me.
We were lucky today. At half time I couldn't see any way back into the game but we won. How good does that feel!
Enjoy the moment!
Well in recent times we've played well and lost and played badly and lost so it's a refreshing change to play badly and win.
I think we were long overdue some luck and the rub of the green. We may not be able to survive on it long term but I'll happily take it while Saunders has chance to find his feet.
I think Balby and Roversmarc sum up how I feel tonight - I might even open a bottle of bubbly!
I know the "honeymoon" will not last for ever, but Dean seems to have lifted the spirits of the lads. Finally, we get back into games. It is alarming we come out pathetic, but it maybe that Dean does not yet know the opposition as well as Sean did. However Dean seems to have a positive instinct on substitutions. I was surprised he started Billy, and am not surprised Billy was unhappy about being taken off.
My big question is why Ryan Mason is not even on the bench! Loan players are not happy if they are not playing.
Anyway, as always, I'm 100% behind the lads, and Dean also. I'm just jealous of NY's visit - he is obviously the 12th man we needed!

Has jr lost the board? What a statement purly based on assumption, things have not been right with sod for months, ever since he was linked to the other managers positions, you have to agree with that, a massive slump in form, and the inevitable happened!! And so what if someone's bought a 25% stake, it's not a majority holding, so what's the difference? Surly that's a good position to be in when people are willing to invest!! I think we have got our donny back again!! Just my view, I'm no expert! R.T.I.D
A 25% stake in any organization buys a huge amount of influence if that is what's been bought. The other question is what has happened to other share holdings if this is what has happened. They must have reduced in percentage terms.
Now, the guy is a Scottish football agent who resides in Monaco. Does he have the clubs best interests at heart? Hopefully that is an irrelevant question as he hasn't bought this stake as rumoured.
as far as im led to believe and its only my opinion no one has bought any % of shares in drfc, especially if we are tallking of the football agent. some money has been made available for saunders to use which he would have used at wrexham if he was still there. i heard this yesterday at a pub in peterborough but no one has entered in shares at rovers as fuzzy says it would decrease that of the other board members
Azzarover I heard the same in a pub in Peterborough from people who are more likely to know about what is going on than most Donny fans.
Was it on a barge by any chance?
Paul Goodwin is talking about 3 may be 4 top class signings in the next two weeks, any ideas?
JR did say we were buying the KM before the season started, could it be now we have LOADS OF MONEY?
It all sounds too good to be true!!!!!
alexmyhero, JR came into the stands at Peterborough and his words were 3 players will sign next week that will shock us and we will be seeing quite a different team for the Leeds game.
extra time spike
yes it was on the barge, i heard it a few days ago someone mentioning about a 25% had been purchased and again yesterday so obviously its ciculated round the fans, but apparently no stake or a new shareholder has joined up with the board. just the bit what i wrote in the previous paragraph re wrexham and saunders.
Alex
The names mentioned are, Goulan from Blackburn, who has played a reserve game and is training this week.
Patrick Agyemang and Danny Shittu from QPR and Freddie Piquionne from West Ham. I don't know if there are any other names but these I heard when I was over there.
All the players sound incredible. It's hard to believe they will accept our rates of pay? Or is it that they have all decided there's more to life than a mansion, roller, and 20 grand a week? I doubt it.
If it all backs fire don't put my club at risk JR!
According to Dean Saunders they would come to get into the shop window. To get a good contract elsewhere they would have to perform. If they perform we might be able to keep them. If not and we stay well out of the relegation zone because of them he will have achieved what he has been asked to do.
Chimbonda is on a small, short contract to prove himself to Premiership clubs. Also he has said, now we are off the bottom other players will look to come to us.
NY,
It sounds like a model that could work, my fingers are crossed.
Have you heard who the possible money man is or is it a big secret? It can't be the agent and he must be a fit and proper person. I can only conclude he must be a little shy! Can't wait to find out who it is.
All I know Alex is that he was due to buy into Wrexham, which has now gone to a Supporters group. I don't know a name, but the agent ie Mackay comes into it because he is Saunders agent ( as I understand) and if you remeber he has ties to Doncaster with regard to Horse racing.
You never klnow this might bring Victor Chandler back into the reckoning due to Forest not doing much at the moment.
By the way there is no truth to the other rumour that Arsenal want Deano to replace Wenger, Ha! Ha!.
By the way Alex, if you listen to DS he admits we do not have masses of money, nothing has changed in that respect. He is looking at using his contacts to brig in players who maybe free agents or languishing down the pecking order at Premiership clubs.
These players are prepared to play for little in the hope of getting a big contract elsewhere. If they do and they produce for us, then other players will see the sense of doing the same. We could have a conveyor belt of top class players who play for little but at the same time improve the team. That is being mercenary I can take. It's when they want top bucks to do just the same and then leave.
