I think the days of exceptional oven ready players for £10m are over unless youre lookin at the over 30's with no resale value

doubt it since they now own grasshoppers and are linked with buying Bordeaux..... tis a learning curve

I think there are quite a lot of overreactions amongst Wolves fans at the moment. I guess uncertainty sends us into our natural pessimistic state.

Some here have got what they wanted with Nuno going and still they sh!t their selves.
I desperately wanted Nuno to stay, he's gone but it's not the end of the world. Fosun and little Jeff have been fantastic for us, far better than most. I I don't see any reason why that should change.

I don't recall anyone demanding Nuno be gone? In fact I think every one of us wouldn't have complained if he took us into next season. But if it makes you feel better to turn it into a them and us situation then fine.

I do think some of the negativity and scaremongering is slightly OTT

I think it all depends on who we sell, what we get for them and what our actual net spend is.

I think selling one key player for a big outlay and reinvesting is perfectly acceptable for a club in our position. It's the type of model Leicester have followed successfully.

Yeah never had an issue with selling a star here or there, for a club of our standing we don't really have a choice given the ffp bolloks.

Why I really think we made a mistake not selling Traore at peak value a year ago though I guess Covid didn't help that situation. Interesting summer ahead, a new manager usually gets backed well so hopefully that is what we see.

Absolutely no point in turning this into a fat v thin situation Wolfgang. Nobody was calling for Nuno to go as I recall?

I can't disclose that info Tam but I suspect you have a good idea. Look for a wildly fluctuating temperament with complete contradictions simultaneously on different posts. Seems that the stories of Fosun buying Bordeaux are no more true than most of the managerial and transfer rumours

Barry Douglas has been released by Leeds.

One of the best set piece takers I've ever seen. Felt like we would score from every corner and free kick when he played for us.

I love Moutinho still, and particularly did while he was still really performing for us, but did anyone else hear on one of the podcasts/articles that he used to film himself doing ridiculous things with a football in his garden and send it to the squad? I've never been able to wrap my head around this idea that he can consistently do stuff that's so amazing that a squad of professional footballers is impressed... And yet in literally hundreds of attempts I don't think I saw him ever deliver a dangerous corner, and certainly not one as good as Barry Douglas.

Fosun would have to shell out over 100m euros to buy Bordeuax. No way they'll happen. The club were placed in Administration back in April and their American owners will not bail them out.

I liked Barry Douglas but I think Jonny was a significant upgrade so no regrets about letting him go

As for Moutinho he was probably the bargain of the century at £5m but I think the time has come to move on without him

Why am I not surprised.

Wouldn't argue that Jonny and Samedo are better players than Douglas and Doc
BUT
do the lesser players strong points ie crossing and attacking threat make them more valuable to the team
I think it might.
