I’m paraphrasing that quote. So don’t take it word for word. He was basically saying he thinks it’s disgraceful for people to come in, spend money more money than the club can afford, get the credit cor the signings and then disappear a couple of season later to leave someone else to sort out the debt.

Don't know if this one has been mentioned yet, Vlachodimos, a Greek/German keeper at Benfica. Rumour via Portuguese press:

Orta has been quoted ruling out all the names seen in the press with regards to the potential left back. But that a deal could be wrapped up soon.

Makes a mockery of this article but not a massive surprise.

After Orta ruled out any of the linked left backs it looks like Perraud will be going to Southampton for £8-9m. I assume we were never in for him because that should be comfortably with in our price range.

Other left backs I suppose can be ruled out are Sosa, Tagliafico and also seen lots of links to Javi Galan who has just been relegated with Huesca

Reports from Russia that the Georgian winger who's name I can't spell has agreed terms with Victor, and is happy with the package being offered by Leeds.

Itsbhis agent talking though, so make of that what you will.

Yeah it sounds like the most likely of the names linked to me.

Clips below.

Looks fun. Bit of a gamble but that’s what scouts are for.

I’m guessing it would mean Costa is leaving because we definitely need players for the centre more than the wing.

To me it either means we have less money than I thought we do, or that we need to save funds for one of our other targets. That and the 3.5 being quoted for Galan.

Think he would replace Poveda as a bench option, personally.

Looks like Oliver Casey may be leaving on a permanent. Blackpool interested in making him one of their key signings ahead of their first season. Would be looking at putting a load of clauses in there, including a buy-back if we can.

posted on 8/6/21

Be a good move for Casey, he needs to leave because I can't see him making it at Leeds. Yeah sell on percentage should always be included.

Don't see us going for Galan, and can't see money being the issue with Perraud... Possibly for Buendia if were ever interested.

Talk now increasing regarding Cunha. He's liking Leeds United tweets and their director of football seems to be accepting he could leave. Looks very exciting and ticks a lot of boxes. Plays mostly as a 10. But also a right footed left winger or a 9. Only 22. Danger is same problems as Rodrigo in that seen no evidence of him pressing opponents.

Would be amazed if both him and the Georgian winger were signed.

Cunha looks a real player. Not sure where he fits into the starting line up, but having quality depth and different attacking options would be great!

This Twitter account has a blue tick so I'm assuming it's the official RB Leipzig account.

In the proceedings against Leeds United FC regarding the transfer of Jean-Kévin #Augustin, #RBLeipzig have received a positive decision from FIFA in the first instance. The ruling is however not yet legally binding.

Tomorrow's the big day, Harrison should be first over the line, hoping the fact he will have to self-isolate in a hotel for two weeks at his own expense on his return from his hols will not delay matters. Want to see this deal and dusted.

Perraud being linked with a move to Southampton now

posted on 9/6/21

Suggestions are that Orta was very impressed with a young left back after meeting the player in person. The left back remains unnamed and all names in the press have been denied.

I expect that the player will have been preferred to Perraud because surely we would have secured his signature ahead of Southampton?

Hopefully we get an official confirmation soon. But would not be surprised if the majority of the activity has to wait until after the Euros

Looks like Greenwood and Gelhardt will also be staying with the club for next season, as opposed to being loaned out.

I think this is best but wish Bielsa would give them minutes at the end of games for experience. I know his reasons but surely it would help us out in the long run.

It will be interesting to see how they fare against the better sides they play against this season. Clearly some talent there, but think there are lessons that need to be learned first, for me.

But I think the same for Poveda and he has had plenty of gametime so who knows.

Tyler Roberts signed 3 year contract extension until 2024.

Great news for me.

I'll admit it: I fell for the press speculation. With Perraud in particular. I was convinced this was going to happen. Now Southampton linked.

Oh well. Goes to show once again, doesn't matter which
players we're linked with in the press, the club will surprise us with someone else. Never dull.

Harrison Reed now linked and wouldn't be a bad option. Similar type of player to Forshaw who we really have missed over the last two seasons. I assume would be happy to cover Phillips, and rotate with Klich in the middle allowing us much better strength in depth. Not the most exciting signing in the world but one that I would be happy with.

I just worry about Shackleton and it looks like he may have to find a loan move somewhere if this happens.

posted on 11/6/21

Not sure about that on Shackleton. Seems pretty clear that Bielsa considers him to be more of an 8. Hasn't really used him at 4 when we have had shortage there. Thought he did okay the one time he slotted in, personally.

Depends if you think Reed would also backup 8 as well.

Don't see Shackleton as a 4. Think he is best as an 8. Expect Drameh to overtake him as a rb option.

See Reed being signed to play as the more defensive 8 and cover for Phillips. It's the pushing Shackleton down the pecking order as an 8 by Reed that I am referring to

posted on 11/6/21

I've never really seen Reed play as an 8, though. More of a holding midfielder than one that operates in more advanced positions, right? Is he actually a permanent Fulham player or is he on loan from Saints?

posted on 11/6/21

Yeah you're right, but he is good on the ball and I would expect that they see him as someone who can play next to a more attacking 8/10 in the midfield.

If it's deemed he doesn't have the qualities to play in front of Phillips then I don't really see the point in signing him.
