Thought Spinazolla was probably the MotM for me. Very energetic up and down the left side, even popping up to defend on the right at times.

Not sure its that good a barometer to judge Italy on, as Poland looked out of it from the start, but a good start to the Euros. More of the same please.

He was very good

Also I meant Turkey. No clue why I said Poland.

Watching Italy shows you why England will never win a major tournament: we just can't compete with the diving/screaming/conning the opposition into putting the ball out of play. No right calling themselves sportsmen.

Yeah hard to judge too much lubo I agree but tourney footy is about momentum and that's 28 unbeaten now and 9 clean sheets on the bounce much tougher games ahead but points on the board are all that count

Yeah its a good result, no doubt. Turkey were probably the banana skin of the group, though think the Swiss are another team going a bit under the radar.

Mad thats the first time you've scored more than 2 at a game in the Euros.

Why are folk talking like this is a one off game for Italy - they have a good system that they’ve been using for a while, their performance shouldn’t have been a surprise.

Never mind their quality players or that they’re Italy.

Because teams doing well before a tournament doesn't always translate to doing well in the tournament itself.

Its a good start for Italy, but I'd say this will be as competitive a Euros as theres been for a while.
