I'd take him but Walker, James and Trippier can all play at RB.
Taking even 3 right backs seems over the top to me. I know he talks about them being more than just RBs, but that is bull. Trippier and TAA should both be cut, imo.
Pick whoever you want Scotland will still make you cry at Wembley.
Ings didn't make the 33 man squad so I don't where you've got that from in the OP.
I think he should cut Ramsdale, Trippier, Coady, White, Phillips, Watkins and Saka.

Hilarious if true. Southgate can barely get the team to score a goal from open play and he leaves out the best dead ball player in the country.

It's England, there will be a media circus regardless of what happens. Although prompting them doesn't exactly help the matter.
TAA's inclusion or omission will create a media story anyway. If he's in, the pressure is on for him to play well whenever he gets the chance, if he's out, it puts the pressure on Walker/James/Trippier to play well.
TAA is a poor defender compared to Walker and Reece James. I doubt he would be trusted in the big games and there's no point taking a 3rd or 4th RB just for the 'easier' matches.
I'd drop TAA , Ben White, Ramsdale, Godfrey, Lingaard, Bellingham, Saka.

I don't actually know why there is this conspiracy that he is actually a worse defender and as if that's the only deciding factor in what we want from a full back. I wouldn't say Walker is any better a defender than what TAA is in all fairness.

TAA in central midfield would be the best player.
I think people are being hard on TAA. He is young and undoubtedly talented, but he's gone through poor form - he will come back. However, on form, you have to look
at Reece James and Kyle Walker as first choice in that position.
TAA has been better than Walker for the second half of the season.

Not sure. TAA has recovered in the last month but Walker's been fairly consistent throughout the season. He and James can cover central defence too, where we have lots of problems.
I don't rate Walker at all. Not great at anything really in terms of technical ability, just incredibly fast and powerful. Poor player for me.
In fact, Trippier is the one I don't like but apart from being Southgate's love child, I think he's there because of his crossing ability.

I agree Walker has been consistent throughout, but I just think TAA has been better.
I think we would be best taking both James and TAA really. James covers central defence better than Walker does but that's probably because I don't fully trust Walker's defending, but then again, I don't with Stones either.
