Unfortunately we have to settle with Matt-h Judge
I get why we’re looking at Trippier but surely we should have just bought a better RB to begin with. £50m on a RB who’s got terrible positional sense and has no offensive game is pretty poor business.

The decision makers are poor.
Got too excited because he made a load of tackles for Crystal Palace and thought he was the next big thing, rather than assessing the qualities a United right back need.
And missing the point that having to make loads of tackles suggests a weakness in positioning.
He'll be looking at Trippier to cover both sides I reckon.
Sancho would be a VERY good signing and the athletic are reliable.
Is everyone forgetting we already have 4 FB's plus Dalot coming back?
Don’t really need even more cover on the left with Telles.
I’m hopeful of Sancho but can’t see us going into negotiations a week before the Euros start.
Its a shame Ole doesn't rate Dalot. Hopefully his potential sale can pretty much cover the cost of Trippier. Trippier would be a decent option at RB for 2-3 seasons in an attacking sense.
Williams should also get a loan move if Trippier comes in.
Dalot’s done nothing at the club, same at Milan by the sounds of it, and had he done anything at Porto? Seems to be a very average player to me who isn’t good enough for us.
Seriously, why on earth would the club be looking at spending most of the budget on a RB and RW when we have already spent £100m o those positions within the last few windows?
And missing the point that having to make loads of tackles suggests a weakness in positioning.
-------------------------------------
I've never been a fan of AWB but this is a pretty lazy assumption that I see people make. He makes a lot of tackles because he is genuinely brilliant at it.
Not much to the rest of his game unfortunately.
Sancho and Trippier for me pretty much cement our position in the top 4 again next season. They both improve our first team and squad. I actually think Trippier is better than Wan Bissaka. Southgate clearly does too.
To go to genuine title challengers we need to buy a top class CB or DM though. Ideally both but after Sancho that seems highly unlikely we'd have enough cash for both.
Because the club aren’t very good at getting in what we actually need.
Tbh I think we’ll bin off Telles this window if we get Trippier. Not been a good signing at all.

Because the ones we've signed aren't good enough or ready.
Dalot and Wan Bissaka aren't going to make us winners.
Amad looks a talent but looks a long way off being ready for week in week out action. He's not in same league as Sancho let's face it.
I wonder if we should send Amad on loan if we get Sancho.

He's been a good signing only in the sense he's made Shaw up his game massively. But yeah I have been pretty underwhelmed by him when he has played. His attacking game in particular isn't as good as I read it was.
Telles has been an odd one, in a way he’s been a great signing because his arrival has clearly given Shaw a reason to improve. But because of that he’s had no real opportunity to play, even though many were banging on about how good he is. I’d rather we did keep him as back up as we clearly need depth, that is if he’s happy to sit on the bench.

If we keep all our forwards who are currently here and add Sancho then I feel we should loan him. His playing time will be minimal.
Telles is fine for the role he was brought in for. He isnt great but I can't think of a single second choice left back in this league who is.

Yeah. AWB's tackles are barely ever recovery having been outfoxed / outpaced / started in a bad position. He does it much more than others because he's exceptionally good at it, and winning the ball rather than blocking space is valuable because it gives us the opportunity to counter attack.
Just need to work on what happens after he wins the ball...
Heaton (3rd choice)
Trippier
Sancho
Feel there's a midfielder coming too. Huge doubts over Pogba situation and also I can't imagine Donny is going to stick around to not be given more of a chance.
Would love Saul Niguez to come in. Not had a great season for Atletico but he's a genuinely brilliant footballer whenever I have watched him before this season.
Yeah for £13m I’m not sure you’re gonna be getting much better than Telles as back up. Look at City, they’ve spent a country’s annual GDP on full backs in recent years and still don’t look to have fixed it.
Likely just pure speculation but Marca are saying Saul Niguez is off to Bayern.
