It would be good to follow up a manager accused of being too nice with someone who's a bit of a Conte.

Antonio Conte is not joining Tottenham at current conditions, confirmed. He’s not convinced about project and staff members. Big difference on salary proposal too. ⚪️🚨 #THFC

Paratici is expected to accept Spurs job.

Spurs will look for different managers, as per @matt_law_dt.

Levy tight as

No more than four staff members allowed is he for real

I’m not surprised really, it was a match made in hell if it happened.

Conte didn’t like levy’s mid table ambition

Antonio Conte wanted to bring more than 4 staff members to Tottenham, Spurs reluctant on this point. Salary proposal difference around €3m. Investments and project to win ‘as soon as possible’, another issue. That’s why talks with Conte have stalled - no agreement. ❌🇮🇹 #THFC

Conte wouldn't be a good long term choice for anybody. I'm sure when we appoint our next manager, whenever that may be, we'll go for someone that it's hoped can be in it for the long haul. Conte delivers immediate results but his constant demands to spend huge money always end with him departing.

Good news for us, bad news for Spurs.

True but let’s say we bring in top players this summer and Ole doesn’t deliver. Conte could be the perfect man to deliver short term success.

Yeah in the short term, he's as good as any manager around. He'd be winning trophies and challenging for (potentially winning) titles within 2 years. Set against that, he'd be off after those two years and the style of football we'd played would be no more entertaining than what we're getting under Ole, which isn't great

I agree but I’d take bad football if it means success and he doesn’t seem to leave clubs in a bad state either.

If the club really do want to win the league they’d appoint Conte.

Best manager available and better than Poch who they wanted first. Signing him would signal they actually do mean business and could have convinced Kane to stay.

Conte is exactly what they hoped Jose would be. Difference is Conte isn’t past it.

Cuckoo land. You see this is the problem with our fans. This whole long term appointment leave it to the fairies. This is the new world and we better get on board!! Get a manager for 3 seasons tops, they deliver you trophies, happy days.

Yup, and that's why he has rejected Levy. He wasn't going to put up with Levy's lack of ambition. Jose knew he was washed up and spurs was as good as he could get.

Levy has shown Kane how unambitious he is missing out on Conte. We're facked until Levy and ENIC fack off.

Yeah he would. But I’m still not a fan of his style.

One problematic thing with Conte would be that we’re looking to build a squad around an attacking midfielder and wingers.

But, as I said, if the club want to win the league they’d hire him and let him do what he wants. I think he could win the league with us.

Most of you think your squad is filled with sh’t but this is the guy who would maximise what you have and turn around a few careers. You would 100% be in the running for top 4 at a minimum.

Yes he would have eventually lost the plot and probably murdered Levy but you would have done well in the mean time

Not sure we should be looking at ‘long term’ options as in this day and age 3/4 seasons is the usual lifespan for managers. As unpalatable as it would have seemed a few years back, perhaps the Chelsea model isn’t so bad in 2021. Perhaps a debate for a different day.

Regarding Conte, the guy has a brain and realised the current Spurs squad minus Kane (even with Kane I guess) is a path to winning nothing so probably has the sense to wait for something better. Far too much work needed there with a chairman who probably only promised him a smaller amount than Conte wanted.

Ya I agree. I feel Conte is a little like Pep in the job he picks and it would take a miracle to win the title at Spurs. Don’t think top 4 would be good enough for Conte.

Conte turning Spurs down for some of the reasons cited makes him even more of a better option for us imo.

Just wanted to ask though, for those saying he isn't in it for the long haul. Why do your say this?

Did he leave Chelsea through choice?

Also his current/last role and him leaving. That wasn't on him. He delivered and bar lukaku, who he got for less than we paid for him and iirc wanted him at Chelsea too does he really require players constantly? Or just initially and the builds on that?

I wouldn’t mind Conte at United at all but wonder how much the owners would gel with his feisty ways. Just can’t see it happening.
