It is completely beyond my comprehension that some folk can't see that if you put the BLM logo up it will get associated with the knee gesture.

Why put the banners up if its not relevant?

It's a bit like me putting a Labour sign up in my garden then expecting everyone to believe I voted for the Greens.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Even further beyond comprehension is the fact that it’s since been clarified, by the players and manager, that the kneeling in this case is not political, or to do with BLM. This keeps, conveniently/intentionally falling on deaf ears for some reason.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
😂 And Paolo Di Canio didn't do a N@zi salute.

No, you right. I can't think why people associate kneeling with the BLM. Unfathomable...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So intentionally ignoring the words of Southgate and the players, you know the people actually protesting, it is then.

Maybe they should do a YouTube video and you’ll pay attention.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Brilliant stance. So you've spoken to all the players? And those booing? Good. We've achieved nothing
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why would I need to speak to all the players? They’ve spoken in the press and given their reasons to protest. Expecting all the players to be trotted out to the press is exceptional levels of pedantry, even for you.

I’m not speaking to all the fans. Just those who post comments about it on here.

Topic always goes this way with you for some reason.

Ok lets try this another way.

If the BLM banners at the grounds and the logo on the tv have nothing to do with the taking of the knee and the players have distanced themselves from the movement why not remove any references to them?

Lets not have any going off on a tangent replies, I'm specifically asking why do we need any BLM logos featuring around a football match?

That’s down to the clubs and tv stations. They are showing their support for an anti racism movement. In the same way that the rainbow flag is adopted to promoter LGBT inclusivity.

The players have clearly stated why they are taking a knee. You don’t believe them?

I do believe them but those who don't will use the BLM banners as an excuse to boo.

I think the players (through Rashford) should ask for all BLM refs around football matches to go. IMO this won't stop the booing but it will drastically reduce it.

Don't agree. If there's any symbolic gesture against racism that's a feature of every match the far right element will boo it, and the right leaning sheep will join in.

They just want it to go away, they don't want an organised community calling them out.

They should have stuck to their original message that’s still on the fa website. Didn’t help when they removed BLM from the shirts rather than reinforcing the actual message at that point.

More down to the government than anything though, they’ll still be loving the division.

Maybe because the players of specific clubs have no say on what sky decide to promote, any more than you or I or anyone else who isn't part of Sky does?

Similarly players are employees of the club but that's it. They don't get to have absolute say things like the removal of sponsorship or advertising. They might express a wish or preference (who knows if they have) but that's it. The same as I can't decide that the company I work for shouldn't enter into specific working relationships with other companies I don't like.

The people who use any BLM banners as an excuse to boo will find an excuse anyway. They players have made it absolutely clear they aren't kneeling specifically for BLM and the people.booing have ignored it and still boo.

posted on 10/6/21

Think people are using BLM when they don’t really mean to with some of these posts. They aren’t kneeling specifically for any organisation that has linked itself to BLM, they still are for the movement though.

This would work of the problem was truly BLM.

But we all know that BLM isn't really the problem here. That's just the current excuse. If you take out BLM they'll still have some reason for booing and opposing it.

Deep down BLM isn't the problem.
