I thought McPake was the Dundee manager? I hope I’m proved wrong but this doesn’t fill me with any confidence for next season as think we needed someone with more experience to build on last season.

You of course are correct and I didn't see my phone had deleted the United in my article. I will keep the mistake in though as not to make your comment look silly. ( I'm nice that way).

Give folk a chance.

I mentioned the wimmin's games yesterday seeing as it was the last day of the season. Didn't watch but junior piped up that he'd trained under Fran Alonso when he first arrived and said he was absolutely brilliant and knew the game inside out and I hadn't realised he's worked under Koeman and Poch. Might be a dark horse for a role under Ange?

šŸ¤£appreciate it. I think this appointment is a massive gamble with hearts and Dundee coming up it’s going to be a tough year for us I feel but as I said I hope I’m proved wrong. Going to have to read up on the guy as know nothing about him. Can only assume that Mellon not playing the youngsters regularly didn’t go down well with owners plans and that’s why he ended up going as well as TA interfering. Fingers crossed that this works out.

You have at least appointed someone.

Don't know if you have heard but Celtic have been without a manager for 103 days.

They are also the only club without one in the top 4 leagues in Scotland

Excellent pun in the title.

Minimum expectation should be staying up playing better football and putting six past Barry's team again. Though I reckon that lot will actually do quite well this season.

Massive gamble but at the same time nice to see a club break the monotonous managerial merrygoround most make do with.

Mmmmm…..

It’s not ideal but still a long way to go to beat the Scottish record of 217 days without a permanent manager.

Wonder what the most days as caretaker manager is? Murty must be up there but there is a few you can remember always being the guy that takes over between managers

Go on, you know the 217 days was the Murty / Nicholl combo.

TBH there might have been a longer one but I was just at the wum.

These rushed appointments never work out. Much better to just sit back and wait for some guy to fall out of the shower...

Its safe to say the jury is out on this appointment....

What this reminds me of is the club across the road signing all these big names, hoping to recruit big transfer fees. They did get a big fee, several millions of pounds which put them into administration.

Hope the same fate or worse doesn't happen to DUFC.
