I had to read the article twice to be sure it's not a spoof/fake link, because this doesn't make any sense in concept and vote parings.
It's about voting the player 'you enjoyed watching most' but then the criteria to be on the shortlist is only based on (team)succes (at least one major tourney and 100+ matches).
Then you pair 1 forward with 3 other fieldplayers, or 1 goalie with 3 strikers in a vote, which has lead to some hilarious parings, for example:
-Bergkamp, Lahm, Puyol, Vidic (thats rigged even by Trumps standards...)
-Iker, Pepe, Rooney, Zidane (Pepe clear winner for all the greatest 'hits'
-Xabi Alonso, Kompany, Pique, David Silva (again rigged and voting down at least 2 spainiards)
I'm betting on either Henry or Bergkamp to be the predictable winner.
Things rigged as hell, how they come up with those groupings?!
Anyway Zidane the king of the all.....
Is interesting what counts for likability. KDB is winning his group with ease, he’s likable for his clean boy image. While Zlatan is also winning his group with ease, he’s likable for his whole narcisstic Zlatan persona

Best and favourite are two very different things. For example I am the best Man Utd fan on this website, but I am far from everyone's favourite. I think it's just the case that people resent others who succeed.

Footballers were just more likeable back in the day. I remember growing up idolising Giggs, having him as a role model, you could just tell that he was such a decent guy. He made me the person I am today. Now what do kids have to look up to? Rashford?? Glad I had a proper role model growing up.
