Didn't Conte turn us down? It was nothing to do with money, he just didn't fancy it.

I'm no Levy fan but I don't hate him either. None of us actually know what's going on behind the scenes so everything is just ridiculous speculation really. No point getting wound up over sky sports rumours!
—————————————-

That is what a true supporter does, yes we can vent and rage about things but in the end they make little difference in what is now a major corporate Premier league.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Every day now a little bit love I had with football seems to die. The clubs and players are so out of touch with most of us. They haven't got the fans interests at heart. Super league etc. I'm not exactly looking forward to going to games next season and I love the Sport. It's losing it's magic. Yes ENIC has built us up, there an investment company that are looking to get as much money out of it as possible. The fans just go along for the ride. The appointment of Fonseca will be so telling. It will prove the club are not prepared to put their hands in their own pocket when it really matters.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
If this is a decision from our new DOF then I am all behind it.

Don wetting his bed again about more speculation, already judging that Fonseca would be a flop.

No doubt we'll hear the "if he's appointed i'll be right behind him" line but we all know that underneath that he's wearing an "I told you so T-shirt" which he can't wait to shove down Levy's throat.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't think it's just Don to be honest

In all seriousness, if this does happen, is there anything you can glean from this appointment that you think will benefit us in the short or long term?

I'd love to hear it.

I suspect Lewis & Levy are going to get what they deserve.
Unfortunately the Spurs fans will have to watch their club go downhill.
Italian Manager & DoF playing in the English Prem?
The better half of the playing squad bailing out for greener pastures.
Levy refusing to buy top class replacements.
Lewis refusing to put any of his cash in he kitty.
It is shaping up to be a very rough year!

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Ted………..the model that Joe Lewis adopts with all the Tavistock companies is that they are stand alone companies. This essentially means that what they spend they have to earn and all the companies must be financially operated on a sound basis.
This is how Enic operate, we along with Arsenal are probably the two best run clubs in Europe in terms of prudent financial management.

This is exactly why we need rid of ENIC.

Sort of ironic that only thing to rival your angst at rejecting a guy that couldn't work with what we can offer, is the joy you had at born winner Mourinho arriving.

Don, give it up mate. I think you have made your point on countless articles. You are begging to sound a bit silly now.

I like you a lot, but your relentless attack on Daniel Levy and ENIC are wearing very thin now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I’ll make my point until I’m blue in the face Sandy. You did the same with Pochettino. I hope the fans chant Levy and ENIC out every home game. Joke of a club and joke of a chairman.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I’ve seen you say comments like this multiple times now, including ‘hoping the atmosphere is toxic’ next season. And I just don’t get. I understand being angry, disappointed etc. But you’re hoping for things to be awful. Why not at least hope to be proved wrong and it turns out to be a hugely successful season with enjoyable football?

It’s just such a negative mindset.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You will see some very enjoyable football next season...especially if you like seeing Spurs lose.
What other mindset would you suggest as plausible or objective for a Spurs fan?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
because it's talking about 'hope'. You might expect terrible football, you might expect it to be a total failure. But surely you still hope for the best?

Otherwise stop supporting the club, if you're hoping for the worst then you're not needed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Go to the OED and learn the difference between "hope" and "expectation".
Any realistic fan, who is not a hopeless idiot, is expecting the worst next season.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Do you need me to draw you a picture or something? I don't know how to make it clearer to you.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You just dont speak English...so of course you cannot" make things clearer".
Get a damned education.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm feeling charitable so I'll have one last attempt:

Don has explicitly stated that he 'hopes' for it to be toxic next season. Nothing to do with expectations, it is what he 'wants' to happen.

I have challenged that mindset, why would you hope for things to go as badly as possible, even if it's what you expect?

I'm not at all happy about this potential appointment, I think it's a massive failure on the clubs part. But I hope I'm wrong, I don't want the club to fail. I don't hope for things to go as badly as possible.

Do you see the difference?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
First of all...you cannot even read.
Here's what Don said.....
"Only Spurs can go from potentially appointing a league title winner and a world class manager in Conte, reject his advances because he’s far too ambitious for us, fumble around for 2.5 months, then decide on a Levy gimp
6th choice Roma reject and appoint the mask of f** Zorro!!!! I despair with this club I really do. Anyone actually content and supporting this mess, you are part of the problem. Rinse and repeat, round we go the bend with Levy once again getting away with it. #levyout #enicout"

Where in that did Don say that he "hopes" for it to be a toxic season?

Frankly I'm done with you...you're just a damned fool.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Jesus Christ Ted you're hard work. I'd given up as I assumed it was as plain as day and even you couldn't misunderstand yet again. But you continue to exceed my expectations.

You ask 'where did Don say he hopes...'? It's in this very thread. It's in his original comment that I replied to. I'm amazed that you've accused me of not being able to read when in the very comment trail that you're replying to are the actual words'.

Have a lie down. The internet isn't a safe place for you to be.

Agree, he’s kind of our level if anything. Roma are a similar stature to us in European football, plus he’s won 3 doubles with Shakhtar and gained plenty of Champions League experience.

He’s clearly not the first name off anyone’s list, but the more you read about him, the more you can see he’s a decent coach. His CV has enough on it to justify hiring him, bearing in mind we’re a club that scraped into the Conference league. If most fans wanted Levy to cede away more control, then let Paratici do his job and give it a chance.

He's just below your level, baring in mind the Premier League is the place to be for managers.

He's a perfect Everton/Wolves profile of manager. I can guarantee he can't believe his luck right now.

You guys really should've been brave & snapped up Tuchel when he was available. I actually thought he was just below our level (clearly I was wrong), but perfect for Spurs - and he would've been. And I'm fairly certain he'd of taken it too.

our best appointment in recent times was actually a very underwhelming choice at the time.

our most successful appointment in recent times was.one our worst managers.

another appointment came out of nowhere and was one of our most loved managers in a generation.

I didn't have a crystal ball back then and do not have one now. The next man could be a spurs legend. who knows!

Lewis is no commercial genius...he's one lucky gambler.
And having made Billions trading on British currency when the country was in a crisis, one can justifiably call him a thief.
And yet he still wants to make money out of the faithful fans of the club.
Perhaps he should give a little of it back instead?
Best thing for all Tottenham supporters is that Lewis moves on....perhaps to the great upstairs, or downstairs as the case may be?

BTW...having a "best run club" that wins nothing is a bit of a contradiction, don't you think?
