Don’t encourage him
If this is true then we might as well refocus our efforts elsewhere. Clearly we learned nothing from dealing with Dortmund last summer.
I'm not going to knock the club for trying to get a good deal.
If it ends up us paying the €69m with bonuses taking it up to €90m then that's OK surely. Leaves us more money elsewhere.
It’s in our best interest to get this done before the Euros in case he has a stormer and his price goes back up to 2020 levels.

I agree with you Diafol, and like last year if they think they can find someone paying full price, good luck to them.

I've a feeling this summer that he really wants to join United. He's pretty much guaranteed games with us whereas it may not be as clear cut in other PL teams he could join.
This must be so so easy for the journos this year... just rinse and repeat 2020's tweets as it's pretty much following the same path
Can't wait till the end of the window when we bid €100m for him.

Or he disappears during it and his price stays the same.
You can't just go straight in with a massive bid. £70m isn't a bad first bid in the current climate.
Ah it's euros, so what's that £60m?
Agree you don't go in with the highest offer first time of asking, but after over 1 and a half years of our 'apparent' interest I actually thought both clubs would've had an idea already of the fee it will take. Seems odd to start the negotiations almost from scratch as soon as the window opens when most discussions could've already taken place.

yes, some people on here seem to come from the alan partridge school of negotiating, asking price of 90m, first bid of 89.5m
Could be that there hasn’t actually been an official offer.
It is concerning that if we do spend massive amounts on Sancho we won't have enough left to sign Winks.
Arab clearly showing why he doesnt run a business
