How has Potter ended up out of the running? I thought Spurs were supposed to like his style.

Fonseca was 1/5 yesterday so it’s heading in the right direction

I actually think that, given how easy it is to check online to see what the general feeling is behind a rumoured appointment, Levy may have taken one look at how badly it's gone down and had second thoughts. He'll have been briefed that this appointment will NOT go down well at all.

Culer - I think the Poch ship has sailed unfortunately. Two reasons - one - he's brought in Wijnaldum for PSG who he has has always been keen so that likely means he's staying and two - we're fecking broke. I don't think he'd join us unless the wallet was opened more than it was during his previous tenure with us. Why would he?

Yeah, I agree. Poch going nowhere now. I still harbour hopes of Ten Hag though. Conflicting reports on whether he signed a new contract or if Ajax just exercised their right to extend for a year. It would obviously be another gamble, but one which sits better with me than Fonseca.

Much, much, much better. Remember Bayern had him lined up before they went for Nagelsmann apparently. He'd be the perfect fit for us.

Rumours galore this morning, also backed by the Guardian that Ten Hag is still very much in the picture and may even be leading the candidates.

Does anyone think that Levy has it in him to be playing the betting market? If anyone can manipulate the odds to make a quick buck, it’s him. He could make a killing.

Obviously, he would need to do a Sandy (open several sock accounts), but it’s possible.

After the way he played the season ticket holders, I wouldn’t put anything past him

Sandy...your list is total rubbish.......

Paulo Fonseca 1/4
Erik ten Hag 9/4
Mauricio Pochettino 4/1
Roberto Martinez 9/2
Antonio Conte 6/1
Emma Hayes 100/1

Fonseca is the only guy on there who has a chance with Levy.
Well, perhaps Martinez, but I would not bet at 9/2.
Why not Mason/King?

Levy is scraping the barrel, that's the position he's in.
Failing to get Conte was a dismal display of the truth about ENIC.
Anyone who comes in now will be crappp, and you will soon be saying so.
Notice BTW...Wijnaldum has joined PSG!

If it’s Fonseca, I’m reasonably excited. Very attacking manager, can work within a budget, good pedigree in Europe, and a well liked character by all accounts.

There’s very few elite managers, why some Spurs fans think we’re above Fonseca is beyond me, considering we’re not elite ourselves. Put it this way, if it isn’t us, where would Fonseca end up next? He’s had CL experience, won 9 trophies and just managed Roma - so more than likely another EL/CL club in one of Europe’s top leagues. Exactly the calibre of manager we should be after.

I’m just angry at where we’ve fallen from. From Poch to Jose to this, with no money and our best player with one foot out of the door. I’m staggered that some fans don’t show any resistance to this. What Levy has done to the club in the last 2-3 years is criminal and it all started when he refused to back Poch. That’s why I’m done!

For what’s it’s worth, listing Emma Hayes is just plain tokenistic.

If Fonseca was at a club that would require compensation l, would we be interested?

I think the answer to that question tells you all you need to know.

I think Levy can hardly believe his luck, as Fonseca ticks so many boxes.

Plays attacking football, the Spurs way, etc? Tick. Roma had one of the best xG in the whole of European football last season.

Can he work within a budget? Tick. Fonseca had net spend of a whopping £13m in 2 seasons at Roma.

European pedigree? Tick. He’s had several CL campaigns and done well relative to size of clubs managed.

Any trophies? Tick. 9 in total, including 3 consecutive doubles for Shakhtar, which they weren’t achieving directly before or after his reign.

Good man-manager? Tick. Just read the quotes from his players like Smalling, Mkhitaryan and a few others. They rave about him.

Most importantly for Levy - expensive to hire? Tick. Doesn’t cost a penny in compensation.

Well guys, some ITK think Pochettino is still in Levy's thinking because he may not be happy at PSG......

if you can hold on to Kane and Song and some of the better performers Spurs will have every chance of competing for top 4.
If possible I would make a counter bet that Spurs finish next season 7th and above.
