Besides the goal Sterling was by far the worst player on the pitch, did nothing but give the ball away and find himself out of position when they had the ball.
Trippier and Walker were also poor overall.
Southgate is still fakkin useless, always has been, both as a footballer and manager.

As a Scottish fan watching your game I was puzzled by the high praise Sterling got.
He scored but it wasn’t through any great skill. Lucky with the goal imo and otherwise was bang average.
Would be delighted if Grealish is kept out of the team. He’s the one I fear most in your squad and I was amazed be never started, thought Phillips was the best player today but having Rice too was pointless.
On the whole deserved to win without really putting in a good performance
I agree that Sterling was being overrated today. Sad thing is I'm struggling to see Safegate starting Grealish now and may just leave bringing him on until we're in trouble when it may be too late.

Yet another clean sheet (we do not concede many at all) too which considering our options at the back is a bonafide achievement.
There's this England thing happening again where people seem to think we're really good... were not. We're okay and have talent in certain areas sometimes.

As a Scottish fan watching your game I was puzzled by the high praise Sterling got.
He scored but it wasn’t through any great skill. Lucky with the goal imo and otherwise was bang average.
Would be delighted if Grealish is kept out of the team. He’s the one I fear most in your squad and I was amazed be never started, thought Phillips was the best player today but having Rice too was pointless.
On the whole deserved to win without really putting in a good performance

I agree that Sterling was being overrated today. Sad thing is I'm struggling to see Safegate starting Grealish now and may just leave bringing him on until we're in trouble when it may be too late.
