Morning Gem-Lad how's tricks? hope your daughter didn't go to day 4.

I think Nuno at Everton will be a disaster, I'm not sure Nuno has it in his locker to be the expansive attacking kind of manager, he was always pragmatic in his approach, but that could be down to do with players at his disposal? as you say exciting times ahead for us, and potentially him - but if Everton fan's weren't in love with Don Carlo's tactics and style I feel they're gonna be even more disappointed

Thought you'd be excited, Gemini, about RCD Mallorca's return to La Liga.

I am!

I’m sure Nuno will do well at Everton. We had a fabulous 4 years under his management and Bruno has a real challenge to take Wolves forward and justify the decision to take him on to take the club further than Nuno did, and take us further than Everton.

Wonder how much Bruno knows about the current Wolves squad and who he would be most keen to keep and who he feels we could do without? What will his take be on retaining the loan players we had last season? And does he have a list of Portuguese players he would like to bring to Wolves? We don’t really know the answer to any of these questions yet, so don’t know whether at the end of August we will have a very similar squad to what we have now, or whether there will be a major overhaul.

The jury will be out on Bruno for the first few months of the season but hopefully then we will be able to say the managerial change was for the better.

I am Beeb though I think that Garcia needs to overhaul the squad if he wants to compete in the top tier. Lack of available funds could be a stumbling block though.

Many years ago I saw Mallorca play in a league match at Barcelona. I’m sure many English fans try to get into top flight games at Mallorca when they play the top Spanish teams

There are a massive number of Brits who miss Pollensa right now Tino, the majority of whom are missing it thanks to Boris Johnson's corrupt traffic light system.

Happy birthday Gem, hope its been a good one.

Short trip to Mallorca was my last overseas trip thinking about it. Must admit I've quite enjoyed visiting places in the UK I'd not really thought of going to. We're off to Yorkshire next week, Grassington and Howarth.

With today's announcement on the delay to restrictions being lifted it won't give clubs a lot of time to announce ticketing plans prior to the season starting. I've not read anything about potential restrictions to stadium crowd sizes and there certainly didn't seem to be much social distancing going on at Edgbaston over the weekend so assume we'll be back to full capacity come August.

Don’t think there’s any changes to the crowd restriction rules as yet. The test match at Edgbaston was approved as a trial event for higher crowds. Think they let 17,000 in. Maybe we can get 19 trials at Molineux

The concourses at Edgbaston like most cricket ground are all open which obviously helps and is in contrast to most footie grounds in this country.

Bracing for a price increase too.

Watched most of the euros games so far. Can’t say I was impressed by Spain tonight or Netherlands yesterday. Italy, Belgium and England the best performers so far. Wait to see France, Germany and Portugal tomorrow

Spain reminded me of another team Adama Traore plays for that can't score for toffee. Just caught the highlights of the earlier games, Scottish goalies eh?

Italy really impressed me on Friday, Belgium looked good too and have De Bruyne to come in. England did well I thought, 1-0 seems to be a popular scoreline recently.

My daughter said that it was a trial event. Everyone there had to have a negative test so everyone was allowed to remove masks and ignore social distancing. She said that euphoria that everyone felt at being 'normal' again led to the amazing atmosphere.

I went to Edgbaston on Saturday. It's correct that there was a requirement to have a negative test during the preceding 24 hours. However, the policing of that was, to say the least, embarrassing.

On the car park there were stewards who were supposed to check your NHS confirmation email. In my case, at least, the guy just vaguely looked at my phone for a second or so and waved me through.

My biggest complaint however was with the test requirement in the first place. This was the first time I have had to take a Lateral Flow test, and I could not believe the naivety of it. Essentially, there is a code number on each test and all I had to do was send in that number to the NHS and state that my result was negative. There was no way of them knowing that I was telling the truth or if I had even taken the test in the first place. I could simply have opened the pack, copied the code number and sent it in, stating that I was negative.

Now there were 17,000 people there that day and I'm sure the vast majority of them were honest, but you cannot tell me that if I was one of a group of ten blokes, who typically were 4 pints in by 10.30 am, and didn't want to miss out on my chance to contribute to the beer snake, I might possibly have taken advantage of the laxity of the rules.

If just 0.1% of the crowd did that then at least 17 potential covid superspreaders were rolling round on the terraces that day.

Didn't fill me with confidence.

Happy Birthday Gemini. Hope you had a great day - and avoided the sun.

To all those Brits missing Mallorca right now: Don't. The thermometer just hit 34°C and it's not even midday.

Brutal.

Do think the whole covid checking process is so difficult to implement. Looks like we’re just going to have to rely on the fact that the vast majority of people that have had two jabs won’t become seriously ill even if they catch it

Wolves had the problem at the Man Utd game that the local council were as strict as they could be with setting the capacity and so we filled a lower % of the ground than the majority of premier league clubs. The council have been similarly strict with the local speedway team who have now said they cannot afford to stage any more meetings until restrictions are eased. And if that doesn’t happen in July then the track that has been operating for 70 years may have already staged their last meeting
