They did just beat you to Buendia
What are they smoking over there? Could have at least added £1 on to make it a serious bid
Arsenal becoming irrelavent

25mil suggests they don't expect to get much for Grealish.
Smith-Rowe and Buendia could mean the departure of Grealish, they may have had word from his agent that he'd have been interested in a move to Villa. I don't think clubs will just go in with a willy-nilly bid without any sort of evidence that it's going to be worthwhile.

Or that they don't think ESR is worth any more than that.

More a testing the water bid. ESR has a short contract and they were seeing if it was a possibility.
Cheeky lil scamps.
I genuinely would not even contemplate swapping ESR for Grealish.
I wouldn't be too quick to dismiss this as "banter".
Arsenal are not a sugardaddy club, and we're well on course for our 3rd successive financial year in the red.
At the end of the day, one or two of our promising youngsters will need to be sold to make a significant dent in the club finances.

Yikes
Don't get me wrong, I really like him. Just more connected to ESR. Think he is to Arsenal too.
I'd have Grealish over Smith-Rowe in a heartbeat, and I rate Smith-Rowe myself. I was impressed in the Carabao Cup defeat to Man City earlier last season.

Don't see anyone paying what you're asking for him.
Maybe they'll come back with a bid of twenty five million and one pounds.........

Maybe we'll lie to them, and say there is no buy out clause
Oh wait, in this case there actually isn't one
Villa dont mess about with bidding early in the market at least.
bidding for that kind of player does make you wonder about Grealish.
Villa looking to improve by poaching one of their rival players. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Villa finished 6pts behind us last season.
CL winners Chelsea finished 6pts above us.
This suddenly feels great!
