Geoff Thomas......ex Crystal Palace footballer

GT will set off today with a team of 17 amateur cyclists to ride the 3,400km of the Tour de France.
It will the 5th time that GT had embarked on such an extraordinary journey and a challenge he took on only months after going into remission from chronic myeloid leukemia. This month, Thomas, now 56 was awarded the MBE for services to charity. Thomas, in tandem with the man who saved his life, Professor Charlie Craddock has raised millions in the battle against blood cancers for Cure Leukaemia but perhaps more crucially has helped to create a national Infrastructure that has enabled pharmaceutical companies to pump more than £300n worth of life saving drugs into the NHS for free.
