Doubled your money on Hendry? Did you, aye?

Yes, £900,000 x2 is £180,000 and given on what FX rate you use, it's pretty close.

Happy to clear that up for you.

If we win this round, we're guaranteed Europa League group stage football.

That'll be fine for me, the amount of work needed to compete in the CL group stages is far too great.

Not buying all of it.

Dom is a communications specialist so you'd expect him to come over well but for me there was too many buzz phrases that are straight out the text books, too many which are written by syrupy shermans. He's addressing the celtic support, not a room full of private equity financers. As always, he'll be judged on results.

Of course he has to say it's his appointment. Anything else would be unacceptable. However, Ange would have been on the list before Dom got in. Sure he 'may' have been aware of the guy but I think he really oversold that part?

I like the bit about modernising. However, he will be battling an institution, environment and sport resistant to change so good luck. Hopefully it means ridding more of the dinosaurs.

Like also the implication of beefing up (oooer) the analytics side. Rugby is hugely into that and I think it will reduce the number of failures from our recruitment?

Ange seemed pretty relaxed and straight talking like most Aussies. Here's hoping he does well.

There wasn't as many buzz phrases as Lawwell usually spins out, that's the point. Majority if the support on social media picked that part out.

He also made the presser available to fans, with the fan conference as well and that was a success bar the first question where they appeared to let the ultimately Celtic da loonball in.

No gleeful digs at other clubs which was his usual.

Yes that as well.

I'd also prefer the club ditched the one club patter, it's petty.

that one club thing was funny once but it quickly became "say that and they will pure lap it up" that only works on people that still call rangers sevco.

Its just that it was generally reported as being around the £1.2 - 1.3m mark when celtic bought Hendry.

Dont get me wrong - celtic have done terrific to get the fees they have for guys like Frimpong, Klimala and Hendry.

But I think claiming you doubled your money on Hendry is a stretch. Plus I would imagine he has been getting paid a wage for the last 3 years....

Its a good deal for Celtic and a great deal for Oostende if they punt him immediately for a tasty profit.

Very impressed the Ange so far .

He comes across very well and almost has a presence right from the get-go , which i think is important

I loved how he answered things like the Leigh griffiths question .."He's in the same place as everyone else so a lot of it will be dependent on them and then I'll make it clear what I want to do"

theres alot to read from that ...hes clearly looking for players to raise their game and if they wont they wont be here .

i do wonder whos hes looking to bring in , i think recruitment is key ...especially this season we cannot afford anymore dead end signings like Ajeti, Duffy , Klimala , Kenny , Laxalt etc

my concern is if strachan and kennedy stay.

i think it should be a clean slate for everyone but my worry is that preexisting bias would then creep in.

Kennedy n co advising taylor over boli and bain over barkas.

i'm not saying thats wrong, but i think everyone should be given a fair shot under a capable manager and not a tobacco chewing gimp

If he comes in promising a high energy high pressing attacking style then he knows he he needs very committed, incredibly fit, disciplined players.

So there is no way he is going to throw another contract at Griffiths unless he can prove he is a completely reformed character

i wouldnt give griffiths another contract.

he's not been a consistent contributor since rodgers first season and thats simply not good eough.

If he's got any sense (and the first impressions are that he does) he'll bin griffifths pronto.

He's a waste of a wage, a jersey and a character that will cause issues in the dressing room if he continues with his poor professionalism.

One of the first things BR did was get rid of the troublemakers.

From our point of view I hope you keep him for the reason(s) stated above...

It was £900,000 up front and the other £600,000 was dependent on CL and appearances. Safe to say none of which was met in the last 3 years.
