Only has one year left, definitely worth a punt for someone to go after him.

Worth a punt?
He's the heir to Xavi and Iniesta.

He’ll be one of the few that won’t be available for sale. He’s not on big wages so it doesn’t help them to sell him.

Isn’t it their wage bill that they are desperate to slash? Can’t imagine he’s one of the highest paid yet.

The Dembele/Griezmann video of them being racist in n japan isn’t helping Barca much right now, really sad to see.

If they sell they'll insert a buy back clause

I meant an attempt to sign him would be worth a punt

Are release clauses mandatory in Spain? That's the only reason I can think of to make them utterly ridiculous.

It won’t be to the levels of the players they want to get rid of.

Regardless of Barca’s stance, I doubt he’d want to leave.

There's contradictory info circulating on this point. Some reports as you state, mainly from last autumn, and others, from around April-May this year, saying that Barca are hoping to do so. I couldn't see anything definitive.

It’s one thing paying the release clause it’s another whether the player wants to leave or not

I don’t see pedri wanting to leave

I thought it was clear from the middle paragraph that this article was tongue in cheek.

No smiley, RR. You can't expect us to interpret mere words

Actually, I was being flippant in the OP but having just read in the Athletic the full scale of the financial hole Barcelona have to fill, it looks as though they are going to have to sell players they want to keep as well as fringe players and flops. Busquets for a year or two wouldn't be a bad thing, would it?
