Not sure how these space trips help humanity? They are doing what NASA and Космическая программа СССР did in the 50s. Branson just flew to the edge of earth and space and back. How is that going to solve global warming?

I know they are spending their own money, just pointing out the contrast between rich and poor and how it is getting bigger and bigger. Not sure how in the end this will be good for the world.

How is it OK if twenty-one hundred billionaires globally own more of the world's wealth than the 4.6 billion people at the bottom of the global wealth pyramid?

Anyway, I am not out to be a tree hugger or something, just though the contrast was rather shocking.

Agree on the billionaire piece but o do think any exploration of space is valid, we can do this and also look at climate change etc. if we chose to, we just don’t.

As a species we have to explore space, the sun will eventually die.

But it does look a bit suspect that many of the few people who could actually afford to do this are doing it, what do they know that makes them want to leg it from earth...

Most likely they just want to own space, comets of pure gold floating around out there....

We arent exploring space though.

this has done nothing to further humanity, save polluting in the worst possible place.. One of earths natural systems for removing carbon from the atmosphere is rain, polluting above the clouds is many many times worse than doing so below them, least of all because it insulates rays that the clouds otherwise deflect.

Im all for scientific advancement, this is just a rich mans plaything, delivered at huge cost, huge environmental cost, and a seat price of £200k

its an abomination to my mind

A rich man taking a holiday to the Bahamas or the upper a atmosphere is of no use to anyone.

Advancing space exploration is a noble cause but if they really wanted to help humanity then there's a lot more they could be doing.
