Interesting you think Man Utds lack of talent in midfield will make them 4th yet it’s arguable United have a stronger midfield and attack than Liverpool and you have them 3rd

Opinions innit.

I don't see a 20 goal a season striker at Utd and certainly don't agree about midfield. Nearly lolled a bit in fact.

I’d say pretty much every team needs a clinical centre forward the most. United obviously have Cavani but he’s ancient. Very few top class centre forwards around these days.

Fabinho aside you have Thiago who barely set the world on fire, Keita is a flop even when fit, Milner is past his sell by date, Henderson is limited at best

Yep. I think Klopp may try Salah centrally a fair bit this season though so we may bring in a wide forward.

Sancho is a great signing, though I’m not as confident he will ‘smash it’ . He may do, but He also might start slowly.

Pogba has more talent than most of Liverpool's midfield options put together.

individual quality doesnt make a midfield as a unit good though.

If he gets ten goals and ten assists it's a good first season. Gets to the 15's and it's a great season.

Think I read today that turtle mans got as many goals and assists last season as all 9 of Liverpool’s midfielders so I’d say that could make a difference to a team

Obviously salah and mane make up for the lack of creativity elsewhere

Turtle mans haha

* tielemans

But Liverpool’s creativity doesn’t come from their midfield. It comes from their full backs, thought that was obvious. Likewise with goals, our front 3/4 get them.

On Liverpools midfield:

Fabinho - as good as anyone in his position
Thiago - difficult first season, had covid, then got a nasty impact injury. He's clearly class and once settled and fit started to show it at the end of the season.
Henderson - It's laughable that he still isn't rated by some online. We lose games when he doesn't play, simple as that.
Milner - yes he is 36 but this isn't the 90's anymore. If he's fit he's fit and it's a great option.
Jones - fully expect him to continue to improve
Keita - has quality but may even leave
Ox - often injured but scores goals when he isn't

We'd probably buy someone too.

Bit weird people still don't get this.

We were top of the league at Christmas, finish top form in the league last ten games. It's pretty obvious why we only finished 3rd and dropped out of the cups.

Big hope for Konate too plus big Virg is back.

I think we're going to do well in Europe and be a close third.

posted on 14/7/21

We’re really going to miss Wijnaldum! And I don’t think we can rely on Keita and Ox’s fitness, unless they have a dramatic change and actually stay fit more often than not.

Definitely need another in there with Milner’s age and Hendo’s injury problems recently. Shame Saul looks like he is going to Barca now.

City : A world class striker. Get Kane & they're laughing.

Liverpool : A killer no.8. Thought for at least two years SMS was the ideal player for Liverpool.

United : A DM good enough to cover for Pogba & Fernandes in the same team consistently.

Arsenal & Spurs : Site's character limitations won't handle it

That’s also Liverpool’s Achilles heel

Relying on 2 players and only 2 players means any injury and suddenly it’s a massive drop off, like what happened with VVD

Lot was made of VVD injury but January Trent couldn’t find a team mate to save his life and the goals rapidly dried up.

Still think you need creative depth not just a plethora of midfield enforcers

Right now I would not assume city will win anything, they lack that forward and kdb is not getting any younger

Utd will do the same as last year. Easy wins v bottom and struggle v top teams as their defense is a low block. Lots of firepower, little leadership so far.

Chelsea should win everything with their squad and breaking ffp left and right. Anything else imo is failure.

As for us. Forwards not getting younger. Fighting leicester and the rest for 4th

Don't disagree with any of that. A;ways thought Ndidi would be a good fit for Utd.
