My favourite restaurant is Kendell’s Bistro - french cuisine and absolutely gorgeous - a bit romantic for a group of lads though.
In terms of night life, I usually stick around Call Lane (Jake’s Bar specifically) and then try to convince my friends to go to Stone Roses Bar, but they all hate indie & rock music, so we up going to Back Rooms 😞
If the weather is nice, Headrow House has a nice roof bar as does Belvedere further up the top of town - the latter is my preferred option and they sell some good pizza by the slice too
Also, a bit posh / pretentious, but is quite nice is Angelica’s bar at the top of the trinity centre…the Crafthouse below does a banging steak too!!
as if you deleted my bang on tourist advice
Oh and there’s a secret jazz bar called Domino in the Grand Arcade up by Merrion Street! It’s a barber shopfront, but there’s a door at the back behind the chairs etc. That leads down into a very cool / swanky bar with live jazz bands

That will interest many on here
If you're getting the bus up to Headingley it's probably easier to stay around Merrion Place/Northern Quarter.

Plenty of places in Headingley too.
Waiting list for the man behind the curtain is usually 6 months to a year; Michelin star set menu which I believe is £120 without wine and £200 with (or was that, anyway), so I doubt you’d get in on such short notice without knowing a waiter / chef there.
A place called Home just off of Briggate is very much the same.
Beneath Headrow House which I mentioned above is a little restaurant called the Ox Club (I think) which is also banging

I got in there without that much of a wait, think it was about 3 months but even so, yes you can’t do it spontaneously. Can’t remember exact costs, but yeah it was about £200 per head including a wine pairing each. Maybe a bit more as we had cocktails after dinner. Was a good dining experience, highly recommended.

Never actually been able to get in without an opprobrious wait, Ace, so haven’t had the pleasure! But like you, people I know that have been there have said it’s brilliant - might be a shout for a birthday present for my parents or something 👍🏼
My usual would be head to canal aft for beers in the sun if weathers kind. Then either call lane (jakes, tiki bar etc or bars near grand arcade mojos, belgrave, sellar etc.
New Conservatory in the centre is always a place i like to visit when i go to get a drink.
The alchemist is good if you fancy a fancy cocktail
if you want to just shoot pool then go to roxys
As mentioned by others;
Merrion Street
Call Lane
Granary Wharf
All very good areas for a good drink

Lived in Leeds 22ish years now and Roxy's is the first place mentioned that I've actually been to
Boar Lane in general offers good choices of bars & food.
Pre-match i've always enjoyed the Midnight Bell on Water Lane, does decent food and drink.
Depends what appeals to you.
Other suggestions offered by others all pretty good too. Leeds is a much better day/night out in the last few years !!
Thank you everyone for the suggestions, much appreciated.
