Similar to Pogba though, I just don't see him playing in a midfield 2 in the Prem.

I can remember him as a player quite clearly but I don't remember the formation he was playing in at Lyon.

Supposedly we've gone from 16/1 to 1/2 to sign him. Can't say that this would excite me much, though I didn't see much of him last season.

Neves would definitely offer more than McT or Fred as one of the 2 if we still go with a ‘double pivot’ in a 4231 but he’s nothing like the kind of DM we need if we’re going to have just 1 there to allow for Pogba and Bruno to play ahead of them.

Didn’t have a great season just gone, but I watch wolves a fair bit and we have the neves it 2 years ago he’d be an asset.

Hard working, good positioning, he is aggressive great at passing through the lines and he’d add a threat from range (which, being a counter attacking team, wolves don’t make use it).

i'd support this signing, if only because we wouldn't need to bother to think up a new chant, we could just incorporate him into the cantona one

From what I've seen Neves is better on the ball than McT and Fred so that would be an upgrade. We may well be better off selling Pogba and having more quality depth in midfield.

Never been that impressed with Neves. While clearly a better player I can see where people get the Portuguese Darron Gibson thing from.

It'd be interesting to see him in a more progressive team I think. His off the ball stats I checked minutes ago look better than I thought they would be in fairness. His passing stats are decent too. If it keeps Bruno happy that's a bonus as well!

I think Aouar is one from the top.

Another playmaker ala Mata? Looks great technically but lacks physicality. Don't think he'd be successful in a midfield 2 given the tactics at Utd. He'd probably thrive at City.

We probably should have tried to pick him up last summer instead of getting Donny.

Today in the social media / paper gossip, I’ve seen that we’ve now pulled ahead of Arsenal in the race to sign Ruben Neves…

Wouldn’t be a bad signing I guess, if it happened. But he’s not a Pogba replacement - I still hope Pogba stays and signs a new deal
