Awww. Ironically, after getting a lump in the throat at this kind of talk, the average British* male will turn the subject to something manly like football to get over the awkwardness.

*or is that actually just an emotionally repressed English thing?

I think it’s a Welsh thing as much as it is an English thing. Certainly from my experience. I can’t speak for the Scottish, or the Northern Irish

In Northern Ireland we usually bottle our emotions up. Then add petrol, add cloth, light it and throw it at one of themuns. Very therapeutic

Noswaith dda Babyen.

Wise words even if I do think the heat is spoiling a nice sunny day.

We do need to appreciate things a bit more. I certainly appreciate where I live more now and have discovered new places out of necessity really. I also know how much I missed my friends and enjoyed seeing them for the first time in 16 months in my home town a few weeks ago.

Interesting angle. And I would say an outdated one.

But hey ho, opinions are like A-holes, in that we all have one

Yes. Sometimes it isn't a bad thing to refocus our priorities. All good here all things considered. I've just signed up to a medical trial for asthma and eczema drugs and had a screening last week where an ECG found something up with my heart (at least I know I have one now!). Nothing serious but need to keep an eye on it so relaxation it is from now on.

Could well be!

My Dad had a heart attack (he was only 48) the day before the 99 FA CUP semi final replay. Still insistedyon watching it from his bed though!
