I don't think so personally, if anything he probably enhanced them given the players he brought through. What reasoning is there to think the other way?

Would Prince Andrew have been allowed to play as a CB if he hadn't married Fergie?

1) Man United under Fergie time created a lot of that England team.

2) England during Fergie time wouldnt have won more than they did, which was nothing. I fact they would have probably won less if Fergie hadn't been the manager of United. Which again, would have been nothing.
