Pogba - contract rejected

To be fair to the guy, he probably should move on for his sake. There is an alternative universe where he stays and wins all the trophies with us but if he can go to PSG and join the Poch revolution in his home country then fair play to him.

You don’t think we will replace Pogba then, OP.

I really hope we do, but I’m worried they’ll just replace him with VDB and he won’t be up to it so it’ll just be McFred

Only the Mirror are reporting this. Pinch of salt at the moment.

We might have replaced him with Beeks in a sense. Maybe the plan was always to keep him in mind if Pogba did end up going.

Firstly this was reported by the Mirror so probably a load of bollox

However i reay really hope we get rid. The guy is an absolute circus and he is sooo inconsistent. Seeing some of our fans pining for him to stay is truly embarassing.

Yes I’d agree with all of that at this stage.

I don’t think Ole is that dumb. If Pogba goes someone else will come in.

if its true we are thinking of going 4-3-3

Pogba leaving means we probably dont need a like for like replacement.

a strong box to box player would be a better option imo

Pogba is one of those players... would like him to stay, but wouldn't be bothered if he left.

posted on 22/7/21

6 goals and 6 assists in nearly 50 games last season despite playing higher up on the left a fair bit. Last PL goal for us came in January.

I'll get over it.

That is exactly where I am.

I think this story is a bit like the Neil Custis one in The Sun where he said Varane and Trippier would be signed by the end of the week.

In the unlikely event it comes off it looks like he was ahead of the pack, if it doesn’t well it’s only The Sun or The Mirror anyway.

I’ve a feeling these tabloid journo’s know little more than ourselves.

Anyone seen Sancho yet. He can’t be lost at Carrington.

Compete for top four or compete for the CL, it’s an easy choice.

Just a shame that now we are bringing in a better quality of player than before we won’t get the chance to see him play with them.

Hopefully we replace him with someone that wants to play football rather than someone like Declan Rice.

They'd only know if someone was briefing them, which would be the club if we were trying to get rid, or his fat fck of an agent, who wouldn't have leaked it to one paper, he'd have wanted maximum exposure.

Probably waiting for the new financial quarter to announce it knowing how we operate.

Why don't you rate Rice, Darren?

He’s a good player, he’s just not very good on the ball.

This story is being reported by the Mirror ffs

posted on 22/7/21

Tbf this story might be BS but it doesn’t take much of a stretch to realise a guy coming into the last year of his contract who’s come out a few times (or his agent at least) and said he wants out might take this opportunity to leave when he will be at his lowest price while not being a free agent.

The two alternatives are we let him run his contact down again or we give him a stupid contract offer way above what he's deserved.

Are those two options better?

If we got 45m for him that's a good deal given his output for us for last few seasons has been mediocre at best. 280k a week off the books too. No more Raiola either.

We all know that Pogba has loads of talent. Wealso know he doesn't show it often enough. I would prefer 20% less talent, but with 100% production each week.

we'd probably end up giving half the 45m to the fat man knowing our skills in that area

I think we will get 45 to 50m. Best for all parties he's moved on. He's not been consistent for us and wants to leave. We don't want to lose him for free.
