Think he was happy to do that because he didn’t have a striker of the calibre of Kane though as Aguero was only sporadically fit.
Agree with the sentiment though.
Haaland'll come down to a salary bidding war, and who's got the best off the books payment methods for tax avoidance for him and his agent.
I reckon he'll be in the North West next season. Shame though, I'd have loved to see him at United.
Think City are making a mistake if they pay that for Kane to be honest. Looks like he probably peaked a few years back to me. Good player of course but for that fee you want an absolute legend
I'm praying it's just paper talk.
We got 9 years out of Aguero, I expect his successor to have the potential to play for us for the next 9 years which firmly rules out Kane.
I'm also hating the notion that we're willing to ditch players like Bernardo, Jesus even Sterling just to pave the way for an injury proned 28 year old.

If it didn't involve Wolves then no. I did see the Euros though and thought he was generally poor. Was just looking at his scoring stats and he would score more three/four years ago though i do remember he assisted more last season.

Agree Boris, Bernardo plays out of his skin week in week out and does much to make Mahrez tick, they play brilliantly together. Would I sacrifice him for Kane? Never. Would any City players want to go and play in a club with Levy involved? Unlikely. There are better players than Kane available this summer or next if City do want a striker, Haaland or even Mbappe, both of whom are young enough to learn huge amounts from Pep and give City close to 10 years.
Pay the asking price, or turn your attention elsewhere.
Simple.

£160m gets you a player that was both the top scorer in the league last year and the top assister. That’s in a Mourinho team that finished 7th.
His injury situation is a funny one, he never really gets a serious injury, however he tends to miss 5ish league games a season usually to do with his ankles. He is not that injury prone though.
I suspect you will wait until next summer when the price will be much closer to £100m.

Mourinho’s third reign?
I think that we are interested - he is a great player - but we will never meet the price. I sometimes wonder about Pep and strikers. I sometimes think his favourite number 9 is a false 9. So I think of Grealish and Kane, Grealish is more his type of player. Also we are not without striking options among the younger players.

I think City would be interested if the price was under 100m. At 160m, better options available next year. And City have no dire need for a CF as is made out.

Pep is the best coach in the world but it comes with a caveat. He has to have the best players to play his style of football. He's rather unique in that regard as he couldn't do what he does with a set of mediocre to decent players.
If he tried to play his way of playing with a team not as good as City he'd be sacked within 6 months no doubt.
Money no object though I'd have Pep above the rest.

Of course he could, he’d still make them better. Plenty of teams in the lower leagues have had success playing a similar style of football, just not with the additional nuance he can bring when he also has the best players to work with. Doesn’t mean he wouldn’t be able to utilise others.
