Probably just conference league, league cup and sub appearances this season. He is only 20 and will have to settle into a new country. The fact that he is mates with Reguilon and they both play down the left hand side should help massively.
There was some talk earlier in the window of Davies being sold, with Napoli interested. I could see that happening now, so that Sessegnon can start getting game time also
Look at what Nuno did with Adama where so many previous managers failed. He likes a rapid winger.

That's another one over line. Good news. Some decent moments from Lamela, nothing more than that. Not to disappointed to see him on his way in all fairness. Be interesting to see what this Spanish lad can bring.
Still waiting on the Romero transfer. He sounds exactly like the type of centre back we've been crying out for and will show that Paritici can really make a difference to our transfer strategy. We can't keep losing out on targets for the sake of 5-10 million.

I can't understand why he got loaned out by Sevilla last year if he's truly considered to be a player with great potential. He's 20, he's not exactly an academy style prospect. There must be a reason why he couldn't get in the side. Has anyone seen much of him at the Olympics?

Oliver Skipp is also 20 and was loaned out last year. 20 is hardly old is it?
I will be surprised if Gil comes in and makes an immediate impact to the starting XI, he has undoubted quality but is one for the future really at age 20, it may take him a while to adjust to the PL or he may smash it straight away, who knows. But if I was putting money on it, I would say he will take time.
I wonder if we can turn this guy into the next Salah.
Whether he takes time or not, he's clearly a significant upgrade on Lamela on the basis he's young and developing. We know Lamela won't get any better than he already is. He's a squad player with a useful engine and the very, very occasional bit of class. Gil seems to excite a lot of pundits. It's the same sort of optimism we saw when we first signed Lamela in 2013. Hopefully he ends up a much better player. It's always a gamble, but one worth taking at that price.
Fridgeboy, I think this Gil will get in the 1st team and will get lots of game time. You don’t pay 25 mil for a youngster plus a player, to then just shove him in the Conference cup. He will hopefully cement his spot in the team.
Don't know much about this guy but I'm pleased we've brought the average age down by bringing in this young and supposedly talented player while getting rid of Lamela.

Ah I get it now, it would be nice to get our signings done early to at least allow time for them to have a pre season of sorts rather then waiting weeks for them to adjust etc.

Don, I think the defence won't be as bad as is made out, even if we don't get everything we want done. I'm expecting better from Doherty this season. Reguilon should become better. Rodon will have more game time. Skipp should feature and that will improve the backline behind him.
We do need another defender though which we will almost certainly get. If we still end up with Sanchez and Dier as our main options next season I'll be amazed.

The longer this Romero takes, the more chance it gets Levynated. That’s my worry mate. My worry is we go for some 2nd rate defender after falling too get Romero over the line aka Skriniar

Skriniar is hardly 2nd rate mate, it wasn't long ago that he was being rated by some of our fans like Romero is now.

Not saying Skriniar is 2nd rate. I’m saying we missed out Skriniar and bought Rodon, who lets be honest at the moment is a promising player and that’s it. I’m saying Romero has all the hallmarks of another Skriniar disappointment. I wanted Skriniar and we should of bought him with Rodon. Instead we went for the cheapo option like always. Then we wonder why we never win trophies ?

Ah I get it now, it would be nice to get our signings done early to at least allow time for them to have a pre season of sorts rather then waiting weeks for them to adjust etc.
