In fact I'd rather have our forward line than Liverpool's too.

Cavani Greenwood Rashford Sancho Martial is stronger than Salah, Mane, Firmino, Jota, Origi for me. Not by a lot but we just edge it now for me.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You gonna play all 5 together?

Nope. However I'd say if you choose three Vs three it's very close. And there's no doubt we have the better depth there now.

Mane and Firmino were awful last season.

City, Liverpool and Chelsea all have top, highly regarded, CL winning managers. This obviously makes a difference in how the teams' potential are viewed.

Lfc had a terrible season thanks to Pickford taking out Vvd, yet still managed to finish just 5 points behind us conceding 2 fewer goals.

Chelsea were solid at the back as soon as Tuchel took over. Something for them to build on.

In the end, this comes down to whether your judging the strength of the squads, or the teams as a whole.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think that’s fair. Though the thing is it doesn’t always translate to where teams end up being placed in the league.

Chelsea have often been a curious case in this regard. They’ve often finished below teams in the league that you wouldn’t have expected them to at the start of the season - but then they go on an win a trophy anyway.

Still quite a few question marks over Chelsea, Liverpool and United going into this coming season.

City are the only one I think most will be confident of them achieving about what you’d expect them to. They’re the only truly consistent team in the league.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This will be a different season, with many variables at play.

We're going to have to improve at the back, as well as create more against those stubborn defences—things the other 3 have been better at.

You certainly have the depth compared to us, Origi is useless and as much as Mane had an off season he’s had a decent break and he’s been brilliant for us since signing.

Martial still hasn’t shown he’s got what it takes to be a top player consistently in the league, Sancho hasn’t played in the league. Rashford looks great some games and shocking in others.

I’d back our 3 over any 3 from you if they’re all firing.

Greenwood will be a superstar in a few years though, quality player that will get better.

N2, yep agreed. Hopefully Sancho can hit the ground running as he’ll help with that.

I’m most interested to see how this new set piece coach and impacts the team. We conceded 14 goals from set piece last season - the second worst after Leeds - which is nearly a third of all the goals we conceded.

Salah is a no brainer. He walks into any team.

Personally wouldn't have Firmino over Cavani not even at 34. Sancho and Rashford battling it out with Mane for the other spot.

Like I said it's tight now. We've caught up.

Still too many questions about Liverpool for me to see them ahead of us atm.

Sure VVD is back, but is he the same player? Horrific injury and at 30 he’s no spring chicken. Will he have lost pace? Usually happens to players after knee injuries, will he hesitate into tackles?

Will their fullbacks rediscover their form? Same with Mane?

Can the midfield cope with loss of wijnaldum and no incomings?

Meanwhile we’ve taken the squad that finishes above them and added a world class CB and Winger, with rashford finally getting his injury fixed

I also don’t really read much into “form team of the last ten games”

The big boys by and large were playing multiple times a week, we had a scheduling nightmare and they were one of a handful of teams with anything left to play for.

Add in Bruno and you're talking 6 players who should hit double figures... 15 each is a realistic target tbh which is a sh1tload of goals

Hopefully he observed some of Tuchel's training sessions. But with a keeper who doesn't like coming for the ball, this will be a challenge.

Jota scored more than Martial and Greenwood last season despite playing less games and only 1 less than Cavani and 2 less than Rashford. Played less minutes than them 2 and it was his first season at the club.

Mane over both sancho and rash Ford for me.

We need more players no doubt, midfielder and a striker that scores goals.

Until you see which TAA turns up and how VVD returns you’re probably only taking Allison, Fabinho and Salah out of the current Liverpool team into the United XI

I reckon Henderson might be number one next season, so it should help.

Varane’s ability in the air should make a difference as well, we all know Lindelof’s weakness there.

Losing Pogba would be detrimental here, though it’s worth noting that he’s missed a lot of games in the prem the last two seasons so it’s hard to gauge that impact over a season.

See you’re back after waffling a load of rubbish about how TAA couldn’t pass the ball to a team mate yet you disappeared after I showed you he got more assists last season than Shaw who had the season of his life.

Andy Robertson gets in the current United side as well.

Doesn’t surprise me at all that TAA had more assists he is literally the creative output for Liverpool, corners, free kicks open play.

If we ran every single attacking play through Shaw like you do TAA his numbers would’ve smashed his

People don't give an honest, objective opinion. That's why.

If we signed VVD I can almost guarantee that the narrative would suddenly be "he's been injured for almost a year, won't come back the same, you've signed a crock". That would obviously be nonsense.

If Chelsea had signed Varane - as they supposedly made attempts to, dating back to March - then the narrative would be different yet again.

No matter who we sign, we will be behind. Yet the same people will then use not winning the league as a stick to beat the manager with. Either we have a really good squad, one that can rival the other top teams in the league and not winning the league is a failure or we don't have as good a squad as those around us not winning the league is.... Expected...?

See above comment regarding TAA, your play goes through your full backs

Consider this, they made 10x the amount of passes he did last year. Trent as an example made 1800 passes more than Shaw

1800 and he set up twice the goals. That should tel you something about the quality of Trents output when he’s given that many chances to get assists compared to shaw
