Ndidi’s too limited on the ball.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We don't really need him to be expansive. Just win the ball back, protect the defence and keep it simple.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How is that different to what we already have?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Because hes better at it than anyone we have in the team.

We do, actually. We need our central midfielders to progress the ball, we struggle when pressed due to our limitations here. Ndidi doesn’t solve these problems. His ball winning is very good, but it’s not worth the trade off for how poor he is on the ball.

Having a genuine threat on the right in Sancho should take some of the progression load off of Shaw and our left hand side but we still need at least one player who can keep and progress the ball in the centre of midfield.

doesn't matter how good or bad ndidi is, as soon as we come sniffing leicester will slap a stupid - £60-80m - price tag on his head, and i doubt we can, or would, pay that. same goes for rice.
sancho and varane barely needed scouting, so time for the scouts to earn their crust and figure out which of the cheaper options might suit us.

Ole is learning his trade, and is improving, the decision to hire a set piece specialist coach shows he has the ability to recognize weaknesses and address them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He's not really a set piece specialist. He was Chelsea's youth coach. Any coach today should know how to coach set pieces.

That doesn't alter the fact that he's identified a weakness and brought someone in to fix it.
Tielemans is the player we need from Leicester.

I don’t really have one. I think we need two midfielders and it depends on the market (not that we’ll sign two anyway).
I’d sign Bissouma and Tielemans over the next 12 months if I had the choice.
If signing Varane shows anything it’s that some players can become available when you’d assume they won’t be.
Either way it’s something the club has failed to address for a long time. A top midfield would make such a big difference to this team.
