I'd say Varane is in his prime. Madrid fans are devastated that he's leaving - Real are only selling because they have absolutely no money at all.

I do completely agree that Ferdinand and Vidic are far, far, far better than Varane and Maguire. Which is interesting considering Varane and Maguire are both in the top 10 defenders in the world today.

I will agree with this statement
BUT varane as acieved almost as much, scratch that more than the pair in the last 10 years.

We do not have to tear down one to big up the other but if we played that game all varane as to do is layout his medals

Varane led Real Madrid to 3rd place in a 2 horse race last season. Lindelof led us to 2nd place in a one horse race. Lindelof is the superior player by a distance.
