Goes to ground a bit too easy for my liking but no doubts the boy is a talent.

If he went to Napoli he’d be their best player. So I guess it depends how you rate Napoli’s current best player.

Wins fouls and wears his socks low. That’s about 90% of what he offers

Not completely sold on him tbh.

a good player who, for some reason (the hair? the calfs? the drinking?) has become absurdly overrated by many - in the last 2 months i've seen him compared to gascoigne, messi, and ronaldinho, and seen some united fans saying we should pay whatever it takes (defined as up to £150m) to get him.

don't think he has a great passing range, does very little defensively, and for me holds onto the ball too long too often...not sure he improves city by £100m worth, in fact not even sure he gets into their best 11.

He’s grate. I’m surprised you don’t like him, Forza. In a game full of robots he’s one of a few that actually plays with flair.

He's a great player with a natural ability on the ball that nobody else in that England squad has. A player happy to take others on. Southgate just doesn't trust him. I don't want him to go to City and be a bit part player, arguably they don't need him but he's guaranteed immediate silverware. Maybe even the big one.

He'd walk into anyother team in the league and improve them and you'd be a fool to think otherwise. City just want to shut up shop on everything for the next decade in buying him and Kane. He walk into Utd straight away and before people start throwing up Pogba who is a massive problem and Bruno, he's better than both of them. Especially penalty boy.

I’d love grealish at Tottenham and we could have had him a few years back for about 30 million but levy messed it up as usual by low balling villa

He would walk into any team in the league in my opinion and would be the best player in most squads in the league too (other than City) …..easily better than Bruno and pogba

He has so much natural ability and works hard too

He reminds me a bit of gazza ….whether he becomes as good remains to be seen

He doesn’t walk into any of the top four teams.

He's in the 97th percentile across europe for expected assists per 90 and then he's in the 99th percentile across Europe for both progressive passes and progressive carries per 90

So yeah clearly very overrated

He does get overrated by a lot of people, to be fair.

I won’t count Bumble because he’s a Villa fan, and is reeetarded, but a lot of other people echo his sentiments.

I think he’s brilliant, but having a free role in a shiiiiit team in Villa is one thing, playing at the biggest clubs with different demands - particularly from a tactical perspective - is another.

If he goes to City he’ll need a lot of coaching to meet the demands needed. Similar thing happened with Mahrez, and he doesn’t look as good for them as he did for Leicester.

I think he does apart from City

Walks into the rest

I’m not sure who you think at United keeps him out of midfield?

posted on 29/7/21

Yeah as much as I love him I don't really get the city thing - it almost seems like they just sort of feel obliged to get him because he's good

posted on 29/7/21

He really doesn’t, though. Especially if you understand the needs of those teams and their coaches.

The reason we didn’t sign him last summer was because he wasn’t worth the money when we have Rashford and Bruno.

He’s probably better than Rashford, but not as a goal scorer or runner which is what’s needed on that left hand side. And he’s just not as good as Bruno as an attacking mid.

Similar situation with Liverpool’s wingers, and their midfield doesn’t use a player like Grealish.

There’s more of a case for Chelsea, but they need scorers and pressers more than creative players like him given how many chances they already create.

And City it’s obvious what the competition is. But they’re in such a strong position that they can make this signing and gradually adapt him to their team.

Being better than some players (arguably) doesn’t mean he just walks into the other teams, which is why they aren’t competing for his signature.

I can only see them signing him if Bernado leaves, possibly Mahrez.

posted on 29/7/21

Apparently Bernardo wants to leave. If Pep wants to go back to using two attacking mids regularly like he did with Silva and KDB, he might be used in that position.

I understand why they’d want him, but given they really need a centre forward and a left back it’s surprising they’ve not really thrown everything at those two positions.

Can’t see them getting Kane, Grealish and a left back.
