warburton didn't get a fair crack imo, a victim of over confidence in terms of what rangers being "back" meant the first season.
if he was given the money the rest had i'm sure he could build a good squad.

I disagree. Warburton refused to play a style of football that suited the players he had available. Also, the buzz that Gerrard created was akin to the appointment of Rodgers, but for obvious different reasons. Players undoubtedly feed off such a big name and it definitely makes a difference
I liked Warburton and defended him to the end on here. Loved his style of play and what he was trying to do but came to accept we would never win anything with him in charge. Unfortunately in Scotland you need more than pretty football.

Yeah I think the turning point for me was when we lost I think it was 4-1 at Tynecastle just before he left.
We had about 70% of the ball but went there on a bobbly pitch for a February midweek game and they scored 2 set pieces and other where we tried to play out from the back and the ball took a bounce. He stuck to that 433 and same way of playing. You need to be able to adapt to each game and have players who can do both sides and occasionally get in about it.
watching us last night, and i know we have yet to make signings etc, but i don't think the league title will be coming to celtic park this year.
you get what you put in, and we've put in next to no preperation.
rangers are too settled a side.
Better players would have helped mate but he would just have signed better versions of the same type of player.
Gerrard and Rodgers managed that balance of good football but could rely on guys like Brown or Goldson to pull the team through where they needed to grind it out. Warburton had a team of Jason Holt types.

Look at what happened with the signing of Barton. He was off the back of an excellent season. Walter Smith and even Gerrard wouldn't of allowed that situation to develop like it did

Barton and Senderos would not have been on cheap wages
Awful signings, and went against everything Warburton did in his first season bringing in the likes of Taverner etc
Warburton buckled under the pressure.....the Barton affair was a joke, a stronger manager would have dealt with that far better
