I initially read this as you and hoody sitting there thinking up ideas for movie plots...

Anyway. The platform on Netflix. In Spanish, but a massively underrated film I think.

I really couldn’t get into it. Loads of people I know loved it though so I must have just had a bad day at the office when watching it. There’s a really good Spanish horror/thriller called the Bar, check it out.

I quite liked that 'V' remake back around 2009 too which she was in. I also remember the original 'V' back from when I was at school and it was on HTV late at night midweek.

Enjoyed "Fear Street"... Part 2 and the first half of 3 were top notch.

I watched "A Classic Horror Story" yesterday, was quite a good little indie horror.

"Midsommer" and "Once upon a time in Hollywood" are worth repeat views now they are on netflix.

Not films, but "Dark" and "Katla" are great viewing too, just make sure to put subtitles on, not the dubbed version.

I watched 'Yesterday' last week. It's a great premise but it's a poor story in the end I thought and there's too much Ed Sheeran in it.

Love Midsommer. Watched it 3 times now and damn, what a trip. I can see why some people would hate it but it’s such a brave movie.

Who ever goes on the movie pages? The United board is the most popular page on here so for maximum exposure I felt this would be the place to be 🤟

Most people just say nothing happens.

I can see why they think that, but i loved it and thought plenty happens... it's just not action packed and more drama/dialogue based until the last act.

I thought it was great

I loved it, probably my fave Tarantino movie but it’s divisive as not much happens in it (the end is a different matter altogether 😹) . It’s just a really well acted, well written period piece of 1960s LA. I’m really fascinated by the Manson killings too and that period of time so it’s perfect for me. Some people don’t care so much for it so it might not be for them but do give it a go.

Yea, it's amazing... Not many could make a horror film where it's 99% shot in sunlight. By far my favourite horror and in my top 10 films.

The sense of desperation and isolation for the girl, in the first act, is palpable. Very complex emotions from the get go (hard not to also sympathise with the boyfriend too, he did his best.. bar a few mistakes we all make at that age).

I watched Da 5 Bloods earlier in the week.

Quite a tough watch but a well made film.

Clovehitch Killer
Uncut Gems

Some decent movies since 2018, the standouts for me are probably Uncut Gems and Midsommar.

Uncut Gems is incredible. Very very fast moving and tense. Loved the guys first movie too, a Good Time. Robert Pattinson shakes off the Twilight stigma well. And the Lighthouse was brilliant. I loved Brad Pitt in OUTIH but there’s no way he should have gotten the Oscar over Willem Defoe.
